We've received an anonymous email today from somebody, let's call him The Coughing Man. This person lives nearby the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife and walks his dog on daily basis in the woods surrounding the track.

During one of his regular walks he spotted the following car in action. It seems that mechanics and designers from the Opel Performance Centre (OPC) from Russelsheim Germany were doing some private testing on the Ring with their "friendly developed" vehicle. According to our resident automotive expert here at RaceDepartment it's an exclusive limited edition of an Opel Astra.

The special edition is finished exclusively in white with an offset checkered-flag graphic that runs along the hood and roof and fades away on the hatch lid. A high-mount spoiler, carbon fiber accents on the b-pillars and mirrors, and lightweight wheels complete the visual.

We think it's time that you keep a close eye on the RACE Series Racing Club forum the upcoming days as the coughing man also predicts a special casual event! Not a licensed member yet? Click this link to get your free access to race online with thousands of other racers at RD.

Most of us aren't lucky enough to take part in motorsport - so RD and the RACE 07 club are now offerring the next best thing. Starting Wednesday 19th, RD will be running some WTCC 2010 expansion races, based around the real FIA calendar. Starting at Curitiba, we then move on to many classic tracks, such as Monza, Zolder, Brands Hatch and Okayama.

And the great news is, the first event is also running a giveaway, where you can win (based on availability) an expansion of your choice.

You can see the event threads for this, and other Race 07 Club events in the racing club here.

See you on the racetrack!
