Patch Announcement by Codemasters

Hi all,

We're going to be using this sticky thread to keep you updated with regards the latest game patching status. We'll keep it updated whenever we get new information.


Patch 1 - During the game submission process for F1 2011 the team continued to work on the game, refining, polishing and tweaking and those updates were included in the patch released as follows:

PS3 Status - Released

Xbox 360 Status - Patch has now passed submission, we are now waiting for a confirmed release date.

PC Status - Patch has now passed submission, due for release at approx 10pm GMT on 4th Oct

Patch 2 - The Dev team and QA are currently investigating a number of issues reported by players and trying to reproduce these in a test environment.


Please continue to submit your feedback about any game issues you find in our Tech & Game Support Forums being as thorough as you can possibly be. We're constantly passing on this feedback to the development/QA teams for investigation and review. Your input is much appreciated and of great help, thank you!

So far all I've noticed is an improvement in loading times, in game performance is unchanged (Single GPU).

Guys i just installed the patch and now GFWL just keeps asking me to create a new profile which means starting all over again.Can anyone help me on this?

Well, loading times are shorter (they were already short since I have it installed on my ssd, but now they are super-quick!)

Stop !! Before you auto update your game

Could be pure conjecture here, but just started my race weekend at Spain (Cata) post patch 1, unless that track has something very different about the grip levels to me it feels like the handling has changed, more grip, more stable back end, very early to say right now, wanna drop back into another track with a saved setup and test, but just in case I strongly recommend people backup their game before auto updating, if the game turns out to have updated the handling in this direction I just lost interest, all those little corrections and battles with the chassis I was having no longer seem to be happening at the moment.

Hope I am wrong.....

In the event this is the case would someone be kind enough to zip their handing files and tyres etc pre patch for me please ??

Standalone patches aren't going to happen this year.

@Ho3n3r It's 2011. Most things require an Internet connection to update.

Clearly they have a scant disregard for people worse off than them. Selling this piece of garbage, and abandoning the franchise. Hopefully in the not-too-distant future, the game license will go to someone who actually cares about F1 and ALL of its fans.

How do you propose he get the patch to you if you don't have an internet connection, via carrier pidgeon? Nearly all PC games need an internet connection these days to even install the product and as F1 2011 is one of them how did you manage to install it in the first place?

Anyway, have you never heard of work internet or internet cafe's? Internet in SA is so bloody expensive that 99% of people don't have home internet.

And how do you think I downloaded 2010's patch? Internet cafe.

But I don't think you'd understand.

No standalone patches? Shame! I dont have the internet on my PC, i access the web and play rF online in my laptop. Another disappointment from Codemasters. Thank you very much.

Codies you are full of sh#@. This is unbelieveble, i mean i never saw that kind of behavior before, you just say to your customers, hey idiots give me your money and shut up! No standalone patch! No realease notes! I see anger in the forums. I will never buy codies game again and they are going to be removed today from the hard disk, thats it, i had enough, you are a disgrace for the gaming industry, shame on you and goodbye from us, because i believe there are hundrends frustrated like me.

Thank you codies, we just needed less grip and you gave more. I see you listen to your customers. You are bad!

I think it's become worse this year. Much more than f1 2010 .. and we didn't start to talk about the crashes to desktop in the middle of the game ...

the patch for ps3 is released but sbox and pc still havent been released out as far as i know
