LUT Curve

So I am trying to get some good settings for my G29 on AC, can anyone tell me if this looks ok, or is there anything I should be changing, especially the curve in the LUT, does that look odd or normal?

Any feedback welcome, thank you.

Hey, any chance you could share your LYT file? I have a FANATEC wheel, whennn I use the Wheelcheck app, it feels too weak.. I am trying different LUT files, ,to see what feels better.
If you want to try his LUT, then just copy it from the screenshot! It will be roughly like this:

0|0.16
0.52|0.4
0.8|0.88
1|1

and then adjust the "0.16" to have minimum force correct for your wheel. It really does not matter much if you have a full wheelcheck lut or approximate one, you won't be able to tell them apart anyways.

You can do the same thing with your own lut from wheelcheck too - simplify it and then tweak the numbers manually till you find something that feels good. IMHO it's much better to do it this way and learn how the FFB actually works, instead of rolling the lottery on somebody else LUT.
Just be aware that doing FFB by feeling (either manually or from downloaded lut) is a can of worms, and you could handicap yourself without even knowing about it... choice is yours thou.

edit: order on the numbers was wrong, input goes first...

Which fanatec wheel do you have?
Wheelcheck has some issues. Or rather: the way it is measuring the linearity isn't really a reliable method to measure the linearity of what you feel in your hands.

It's a bit like it is with loudness levels.. When you measure x2 loudness level with a device, it won't be x2 as loud for you because ears are logarithmic and not linear.

Long story short: all wheels I ever came across do feel like the ffb strength increases very linear for my hands and any LUT will change this and feel a bit strange..

Only thing I love this LUT functionality for is getting rid of dead zones in a very smooth way. (look at my downloads for Logitech LUTs).

Luckily for fanatec wheels you don't need a LUT as they don't really have a dead zone.

That's why I'm asking what wheel do you have. Maybe I can help with better settings in general :)

Hi there. I have a FANATEC CSL Elite 1.1 (the one that comes with the F1 wheel) and loadcell pedals. I am currently using FFB post-processing with gamma at 180%, which seems to have done the trick for me. But I would gladly try a LUT for this wheel.

sorry to bump an old thread but I did my LUT yesterday, using a CSL Elite and LC pedals and FFB feels miles better. Not sure if its placebo or actual.

can anyone confirm if its needed or not? The CSL is a fantastic bit of kit without it dont get me wrong but wondered on others thoughts.

cheers

How "did you do" the LUT? Wheelcheck?
Then it depends on the rim you used and the wheel settings what wheelcheck measured there...

In theory you don't need any LUT at all with the CSL or CSW wheels.
It probably feels "different", so you like it. Whether or not you're going to be faster with it or feels the important things better depends on the LUT, the ingame and fanatec settings and what you, yourself are "lacking" to become faster.

Maybe the LUT makes the bits of the ffb that are important for you at your level right now more easy to feel.

For logitech user, we know that it have a weird curve for lut file. So i decide to edit by myself using notepad. Don't know if you're aware but this is identical to disabling the lut curve completely, this file will do absolutely nothing.
