F1 2010 I cant get intermediates on

During China GP it starts to rain after a few laps. And after around 7 laps more it starts to rain hard and u need to get intermediets on. I cant get intermediets on. how do u change tyre stratergy during a race? gratefull for answers

if you are on PS3 or XBOX 360, you have to press down on your D-pad, tyre selection, then press corrasponding direction.
