How to copy cross-section to XPack?

Hi,
I have some cross-sections with materials in a test track that I would like to use in a new project.

How do I copy the sections with material from the track to a XPack (or directly to the new project?

They can be copied from one project to another:
With your first track open, right click in the surfaces window and select 'copy shape and materials'

Open the second project. Before pasting, you need to do two things to the destination surface - give it the same number of points as the source surface, and give it the same materials. Neither position of the points nor the material settings need to be the same (it would defeat the purpose if they did). Once the points and materials exist, you can paste the shape and materials.

What is the fastest way to identify which material/texture that is used in the "donor" cross-section?

Surfaces > Copy materials and then paste materials to the same surface. Switch the surfaces window to Material mode and point the mouse at each material.
