Gran Turismo 6 has received a meaty new update, reaching version 1.18.

The Polyphony Digital racing title now has a new free car: the (brace for it) Volkswagen GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo.

The GTI Supersport is another concept car developed exclusively for Gran Turismo and as you can see in the images attached, it looks quite aggressive but still recognizable. It follows the GTI Roadster released a year ago, as stated by the games developers.

I personally like it a lot, as it's very futuristic yet not outlandish - but it's still probably not for everyone.

Meanwhile, here's a list of the new features and fixes brought by the patch. I'd say GT Academy 2015 is the biggest new feature, though more details about the Academy and its schedule have not been released yet.

"GT Academy 2015
'GT Academy 2015' has been added to the 'Special Events' section. Eligible countries, schedules and other details will follow in a separate notification.

Correction of Issues
We have fixed the issue found after the 1.17 update where the settings of the [Fully Customizable Transmission] were being reset to default after entering a race.

Other

  • Improved the engine sounds for the Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo
  • Adjusted the deployment timings of the air brake for the Alpine Vision Gran Turismo, Alpine Vision Gran Turismo Race Mode, and Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo, when using the (DUALSHOCK®3) wireless controller."
