Early June, updated news on RENNSPORT

In a recent interview with Grid Finder, the CEO of Rennsport revealed that more details about the game will be announced very soon.

“When we decided to do the ESL R1 championship…People thought I was crazy, one of the biggest competitors is Assetto Corsa Competizione, and they made an amazing GT3 game,” Morris Hebecker said on the podcast. “We have always had it in our vision to create this sporting event and start with ESL R1 and therefore, it was quite clear from all the feedback from the partners, that there was a desire to have something where everyone could come together. The GT3, to be honest, was the best way to bring them together and create a sporty environment. But as I've said many times, this was just the starting point for us."

The podcast interview was followed by a flood of comments criticizing the driving title. The developers have continued to insist that, in the long run, that will change. However, this was not enough, but, it seems (and we hope) things will become clearer in the coming weeks.

“We will have concept cars, we will have historic cars and open wheels,” Hebecker said. “We will be giving a keynote speech at the beginning of June this year. Last year, we started with esports racers…and got their feedback. This year we're going to start telling the story of what we're planning with modding, with all the content and so on. We will definitely say a little more about what kind of content will be available… and we will have four or five new cars to show and new circuits as well.”
