Looking back, a disproportionate number of the very first games I played on computer were racing games, games like Accolade's Grand Prix Circuit, Microprose's Formula One Grand Prix, and Papyrus' Indianapolis 500. It's been on and off for thirty years ever since. I still get flashbacks of F1GP particularly when I drive certain tracks. I like racing games because they have all the excitement of an action game without the violence, and all the minutiae of a strategy game. That and the challenge factor is what draws me to the simulation side of things.
