I noticed this happen yesterday a few minutes before the site was down for maintenance for a short while but it happened again after, and has just started again now.
If I click on a thread it doesn't open the page, instead a download box opens simply titled 'unread'. I managed to get round it last night by clicking an alert I had in the thread I was trying to read, and just now found that clicking the page number of the thread also opens it.
It was working normally again today until just now, so I'm a bit confused.
Any idea what this may be?

if you refreshed your page during those 4 mins you might see this problem. Clearly your cookies should fix it.
