Reiza Studios have elected to release AUTOMOBILISTA Motorsports Simulator in Steam Early Access soon.

There are various reasons why we believe this to be a good move, most important of which is having a broader userbase for the development of the new Steam-based matchmaker and the new leaderboard system (along with some relevant features for both).

That means if you already have Stock Car Extreme activated on Steam and you bought it before January 6th, you will already be able to play Automobilista this weekend free of any extra charge! The game should be added to your library as soon as it´s released.

If you did not purchase Stock Car Extreme, Early Access will offer you a chance to get Automobilista with a 20% discount (which will gradually reduce as we approach the full release).

You can check out the Automobilista Motorsports Simulator store page here.

Below is the Steam Early Access questionnaire:

Why Early Access?
“While Automobilista is already at a very advanced stage of development, there are still some final pieces of content to be added to complete what is a very extensive package. The new simulation features and community tools will in turn benefit from testing with the broader user base we intend to gather during Early Access, not only from new comers but also everyone that purchased Stock Car Extreme before January 6th who will be getting Automobilista free of charge.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate Automobilista will have a relatively short Early Access stage, in between 30-60 days before full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“While the content base is largely complete, a couple of remaining new cars and tracks are still in development will be added to the base package during Early Access stage, along with further fine tuning of our large roster of cars and tracks.

New core simulation features and gameplay options are also in development and will be added over the course of Early Access.

Community-based features such as online leaderboards and the Steam-based matchmaker, along with new tools to enhance both online and single player competitions will be introduced and developed along Early Access stage.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“The game is currently an advanced beta stage and 90% complete.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“Yes - we will begin early access 20% off the full release pricing, and gradually reduce that discount as we approach the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
“Since Automobilista is free to everyone who purchased our previous title Stock Car Extreme before January 6th 2016, it should provide us a broader testing base for the development of our new Steam-based Matchmaker and Leaderboard systems, in order to make sure that upon release Automobilista is firing on all cylinders!”

EDIT: Sorry guys but we might not be able to get this out today as we´d planned :( Took us a bit longer than expected to get the build uploaded and Valve has changed their approval processes so it´s unlikely they will get it greenlit before next week (they don´t approve during or allow releases on saturday or sunday).

We´re pushing hard to try still get it cleared but I´d like to prepare you for the fact we may not, in which case I offer you my apologies for getting this wrong.

It's not exactly a new sim is it? Merely GSCE with some plugins and enhancements. Some of are acting like kids at xmas.....:p:D
I think you count me as one of those ;)...

Some of the changes from GSCE to AMS appear to be pretty huge....now they're running in an rFactor 2 based engine rather than rF1. It might fix some small bugs like the game crashing Steam overlay (probably not a big deal, but I run SCE on Steam). But like you said, it seems like it's just an enhanced SCE game with major stuff added. It does add some car classes I've enjoyed watching on TV or YouTube such as rallycross and the Supertrucks (if I can drive them), so that would likely explain why it seems like I'm in a rush for this "enhanced sim" (as some may call it) to be released to the public. I've been really looking forward to doing some legitimate rallycross racing online for the first time....

EDIT: AMS doesn't run rF2 engine...sorry guys

Strange....I could have sworn AMS runs an rFactor 2 isi engine. Not that I'm saying this game has any relations to rFactor though. I heard somewhere (in many sites to be exact) that it's now running an rF2 engine rather than rF1. But I apologize if this is incorrect ;/....

EDIT: I've just read Alex's last post....my apologies to all for the incorrect info :-(...

My apologies guys....I didn't make it up or anything (would never do that). I heard so many sites that stated AMS is now running an rF2 engine that I actually believe in it when I should have just use RD and Reiza's social media pages for info. Sorry again for providing any incorrect info Alex and all...

Well, rF2 runs an updated/improved version of the isiMotor2 engine and so does GSCE/AMS.

In the end it doesn't matter, all sims try to replicate real world conditions and all can only use the physics formulas and car data. As long as it feels right it's good :)

I don't want to dash anybody's hopes (especially kamackeris), but Automobilista Steam site calls for a March 2nd release date. However, there's no announcement from Reiza on their Facebook or Twitter page (or anywhere) regarding any specific new release date, so not sure if it verifies. It seems like it can still be released on Monday as they did state that they completed work for the release and note they "expect to get the go-ahead very early into the new week." assuming that would take place right after the weekend. Of course, we'll have to wait and see.
hmmmmm....steam still says 26th feb.....

I seem to mix things up a bit. For whatever reason, I assumed the isiMotor was owned by rFactor. I probably misread the other sources thinking that rF1/2 owns such an engine. Apparently, the isiMotor engine is used in many other sims besides rFactor and SCE/AMS (oops!). Not that it matters...but is AMS using an isiMotor upgraded from SCE? I probably meant that if it's correct...

Kamackeris, that was the old date. There should be a blue rectangle box stating the modified release date.

Yeh I know its the old date but it's still on my steam page... Weird. No March 2nd that I can see here. Well I finish work at 1pm tomorrow so I'm hoping it's here for me to download by time I cycle home! I am like a kid waiting for Xmas, can't wait for this!

If nothing happens, we can download Monday Automobilista? you have plan to purchase new licenses of cars and tracks for a future in ams?
Thanks to all workers Reiza Studios to resolve doubts in RD

I can't wait for it too...I checked their Steam page last night and the new specific release date was said. I just checked right now again and now they only said March 2016. It could be because I accessed their site via mobile which has the specific date. I don't know....but we have to let Reiza take their time since they've worked very hard on this.

Hey buddy, if you read this page you should be all caught up with the exact plans for AMS and the Reiza 2017 project:

There's more new stuff coming in AMS than many sims get in their lifetime including features that most new sims would headline and underscore their newness through.

Plus we're getting dirt. That basically is a new sim packaged inside of an already excellent sim. I think people's excitement is justified. We're seeing the result of a $100 000 crowdfunding project released almost all at once. Why wouldn't I be peeing myself with excitement!?

Couldn't have put it better!

Isn't the point of obtaining license to gmotor2 engine that it is no longer needed to use plug-ins and code injections? Surely not a new sim but nobody expects that (well some might be confused)...still SCE was already one of best so ams should be only better :)
