Kunos Simulazioni has updated Assetto Corsa to version 1.3.5 which brings fixes for a couple of bugs and a new free car, the Audi R8 V10 Plus.

The Audi R8 V10 Plus is the street legal counterpart to the R8 LMS Ultra, which was included in the second DLC Dream Pack.

Perhaps most importantly, version 1.3.5 improves the optimization on multithreaded physics, which should hopefully bring CPU loads down across the board. A new and revised smoothing and anti-lag system is also live for both client and server.

Here's the full changelog:
  • "New Audi R8 V10 Plus bonus car
  • Fixed Nissan GT-R Nismo fuel gauge
  • Fixed Mercedes SLS GT3 default tyre texture
  • Fixed Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Hard tyres name, causing issue on MP tyre compound restriction
  • acServer: fixed issue with timing who caused session skipping
  • ksEditor: Added fuel and brakes script tools
  • Corrected Alfa Romeo 4c alignment and setup values
  • Eliminated wrong tags from Ford GT40
  • Works on the tyre heating model continues with new surface rolling heat generation on some cars
  • Performance optimization on car multithread physics
  • New improved smoothing and "anti lag" systems for both client and server"

OK, so I had a quick blast in the Audi R8 and thought I would do a very short review...

The car is absolutely fantastic IMHO. It's got plenty of power and is nice and stable through the corners (I've only tested it on Modena - Fast so far btw). Picks up the pace nicely leaving turns, but I think the piece de resistance with this car is the braking! O.M.G. I was coming up to a corner a bit too quickly and was almost certain I was going to understeer off the track. I did understeer, but it stayed on track. The brakes were more effective than I thought they were going to be. The road holding of this car is simply fantastic!

I can't really think of many downsides, but if I was to be picky for the sake of it, I would say that it doesn't come with my favourite paintjob (orange & black btw) ;)

9/10 Would drive again :D

I love the fact that these guys are continuing to fix things on a regular basis.
Updating now.
Of the two popular sims I'm currently running, this one gets ninety percent of the time since multiplayer access in the other is almost impossible...without joining a league.

Anti lag stuff: It got worse.
Microteleporting happening all the time and screwed up damage system.
At least for me with a 220 ping in european servers, haven't tested with brazillian ones yet.

But as always if everyone has a stable ping, no issues at all!

They made a number of announcements on the official forum, and did quite a few server tests with those guys before, but because of the time difference, I could participate in none of them. I assume most people in the Americas can't join to provide the test result they need to improve mp for us.

Road cars are not of interest for me in a racing game/sim, so i don't care about the car.

But if that removes the 99%CPU bullpoo they introduced with some broken update, then i'm considering about launching AC again.

So if somebody could confirm that this fixes the CPU load... :)

The new tyre model is even better with rolling temps, hope the improvements see their way to more cars soon. Not seen the CPU loads if they are lighter yet, will have to test on more settings. The new car shows even more detail and care than anything yet.

Then you should try the Alfa Romeo GTA again :p Now seems more like I remember it from when it got released, but after 1.3 the v5 tyres on it were kinda strange/grippy. Now on 1.3.5 seems more fun.

It was good before, if a little bit of care was taken. Now we have to get used to the new system again.
Anyway the good driving will never keep me away from this game.

Use the benchmark tool to try to balance your system.
Works fine for me.
