They are indeed but are they accurate (i.e. real thermal cameras) or merely a calculated image depending on tyre temperature gathered by the team? I didn't get to watch the practice, just saw this on imgur.

I can't tell you that, just watched last half hour of FP2. I guess they are real and they just somehow blurred out all the other parts (like the brakes) and focused only on the tyre surface.
Can't imagine them calculating those images from telemetry data in real time.

You can blame Sutil for costing Hamilton there because Sutil was too slow into parabolica but Hamilton shouldn't have had to do that extra run because he just wasn't concentrating and went off on his first run at the start of Q2

Didn't expect Kimi and Grosjean out in Q2, too. But im 100% sure that Sutil gets a penalty for impeding Lewis in Parabolica

think mercedes got the traffic situation wrong and sutil didn't help. gutting. i think he had a chance for pole and that he had too much fuel onboard earlier.
just hope the drs helps him but he's a long way back

it wouldn't surprise me if he did it deliberately but...i suppose he could argue he was slowing for his hotlap?

Well Sutil was obviously getting space for his lap but he must of either a) Mis-judged it or b) Purposely held Hamilton up. However, those aren't excuses so I think he'll get a penalty.

true but Sutil was sitting pretty much on the racing line and going very slow and really should have been off the racing line if he was going so slow

Well, he was focusing to get the best exit out of parabolica and start his houtlap, because apperently no one told him Lewis was behind.
