Volkswagen Esports Series Coming to Automobilista 2

Reiza Studios has shared news of an upcoming esports series in Automobilista 2 featuring cars from Volkswagen.

A tweet from Volkswagen of Brazil and shared by Reiza Studios has revealed that manufacturer Volkswagen will be joining the racing sim as part of an esports series. The TSI Cup series is touted as the first esports series to feature exclusively Brazilian content. Automobilista 2 is the logical home for such a competition, as South American content has featured prominently in the title since launch.

The news of this esports series comes after what has been a comparatively quiet month of development for AMS2, and before what Reiza is calling a “doozy” of an update month for November.

No word has yet been given on when the competition opens or how the new content will be integrated into AMS2, but expect more details to be published soon.

You should install it ole, and come for some racing with us Aussies again :) . It's driving really really nice now! I didn't enjoy it when it was first released but man it has come a long way. Hopefully they improve some of the multiplayer server features soon, that's all that is really missing.

That is December at earliest, unless something happens and we halfway lock down Norway again, I'm (luckily) too busy with work at the moment :) I just about have time to do the weekly rF2 event I am hosting.

I thought Volkswagen had pulled out of all motor racing other than by proxy with the likes of Skoda & SEAT?
They only pulled out of official manufacturer teams, just like most german car campanies including Porsche... but there is still customer team support going on. VW is one of the very few brands where you can get an homologated race cars for less then 30.000€... the Up! So glad to hear this. Don't have the PC to run AMS2, so I've happily stuck with AMS1, but Reiza seem to be an awesome and down-to-earth bunch of folk, and I personally would only wish success for them! So, I'm glad AMS2 is coming together. Yours is only one of many posts I've seen reflecting this overall sentiment, so it must be moving in the right direction.

Edit: and to be on topic with the actual post lol, good for them getting an esports partnership. Seems to be the way things are going, so glad they could secure one (esp. a South American one, no less)

time to retire that old timer MJ :whistling:
btw AMS2 is pretty well optimized you don't actually need that Fugaku thing
I run it on pretty modest configuration of i5-3570K CPU and GeForce 1660 Super GPU

I'll keep this in mind! Good to know. May pick it up next time there's a sale, who knows. Thanks for making my laugh right out loud with that GIF hahaha

Edit: Also, AMS1 may be an old-timer, but it is very much still a good timer -- especially for Niels Heusinkveld physics and modding. Anyway, not to go way off topic.

Generally a good news. AMS2 is good now in term of handling and graphics but content wise, all of this is more and more confusing at least for some of us, they should go full brazilian, or full european or full USA or full classic or full modern or full star wars...It's like a modded game with random content inside :roflmao: . One car from serie A, 3 from B, 10 for C , etc. Like my AC install which is completely wild. It's ok if it's the only sim you play but if you play multiple sim alternatively this kind of "what is it for" question is raising very quickly. To be honest i didn't uninstall AMS2 from my computer, i've just deleted the desktop shortcut waiting for future occasions to fire it up again

Good news!

I have to say that I've recently purchased AMS2 after being playing AC, ACC, R3E and a little iracing.
I was tempted with all comments about how has it improved with the last updates.

Honestly, I'm really suprised.
Is not the best in physics (although in wet conditions feels super good), is not he best in the on-line and not the best in content.

But I have to say that racing is so much fun, and visually is very inmersive.
I'm actually enjoying first races anD very looking forward to watch it grow!

Reiza please, PUSHH!

I'm another person that bought AMS2 a while back, wasn't that impressed and left it for a while. Recently I've been really enjoying it., the handling feels better. Love the M1 Procar, the GT4s and BMW 2002 Turbo. Some of the cars don't really do it for me as much, eg the GT3s and the open wheel cars. The great thing about AMS2 is that it's an ever improving sim that has moved up to modern standards, eg it has VR properly implemented (VR looks crisp and runs very smooth). AMS2 is pure joy in VR!

Will I need to sign into a server and ask for a code to have access to a group with a forum subscription that links to a new event that's not available yet because of connection issues, or no?

And bring those damn jumping trucks already!

when I said old timer I wasn't talking about AMS1. I was talking about your PC buddy :)
I still can't force myself to uninstall that oldie too.
but tbh that's mostly cause it's the only game I can play my favorite combo - CART Extreme mod with Portland Vanport circuit :inlove:

Maybe it's exactly the strategy to give access to several different classes without being bound to one class (or close to) or one single promoter only like others have done.
I'm one of those who likes intense racing in Formulas or fast protos as much as driving vintage stuff like old DTM. It's not the only sim that does that btw. RR and iracing (although the latter is a bit of a different environment) already do pretty much the same.

Looking forward to the big November build and future build progress by Reiza with this title.

Bugs aside, my only real gripe with the title at the moment is the varying degrees in quality between vehicles and there handling/FFB. Hopefully the November build will tackle this.
Currently, A couple of cars feel good while the rest not so good out of the box.
Which leads to me spending more time tweaking the ffb than actually driving....just like in PC2.
I really hope they implement a custom ffb per car saveable option and a auto FFB setting to give you a decent starting ffb setting like in Iracing.

Sorry I have a second gripe.....a weather/night time performance pass and a way to reduce the amount of shimmering in VR.

A request to the author...

Mike, first of all thanks for your articles.

But... would it be possible not to show your very long ''About the Author'' message under each article. By now we know who you are. Sometimes this ''About the Author'' part is almost longer than the article. And seeing it over and over gets a bit annoying if I may say.
