The sim racing competition for women is set for a one-off special event, celebrating International Women’s Day.

To tie in with International Women’s Day, the Screen To Speed sim racing competition will be hosting a special one-off event.

Created by Init Esports, the Screen To Speed has typically been a series, such as the inaugural championship with an in-person Vegas event won by Saoirse Fitzpatrick, or last year’s Summer Cup where Emily Howe was the victor.

It will see 25 women take to the grid at Phoenix Raceway in iRacing for a virtual NASCAR race across 200 laps. AIO liquid-cooling PC parts are up for grabs for competitors.

“At Screen to Speed, we are proud to celebrate women every day of the year. This event is a testament to the talent and skill of women in the racing community,” explains the organisation, founded by the first woman ever to enter the World Motocross Championship, Stefy Bau.

The event can be watched live on Twitch later today, 8th March 2024, from 6 pm PST/9 pm EST.

I will not be watching because I don't care, never will, and quite frankly, don't have to care, and no weaponized label, created with the sole intention of controlling my speech and behavior to benefit and empower another group of people, will detract me from saying so outloud.

Of course, putting the news at 6.35pm when the event starts at 6pm is really a joke.
Maybe it was better not to write anything.

Would love to see a event for PROSTATE CANCER, it kills more men a yr than breast cancer kills women in a yr. Not many men's sports put on events for Prostate cancer, here in Australia 1 major 1 i know of and its a fishing comp.

There was an event about cancer that we covered, but it got a lot of people just saying "How about we just tell people to stop consuming sugar since that causes cancer"

Also check back in November. There are always plenty of prostate cancer charity events going on.

Wow this is the level of our 2024 society. A couple of Australopithecus rambling about his mind complex. They still didn’t understand what the woman’s day is about. Or you are very lucky people that lived in a equal society for men and women or you are just bullshit as a person. You can choose. Or not, you can go back to the cavern.

By the way, I’m a doctor. Before saying bullshit check the years of life lost because of prostate cancer and breast cancer, and compare it. And don’t lie.

Because the article closed with the question if people will be watching the event? Don't ask if you don't wanna hear the answer :)

I also won't be watching btw, thanks for asking. Because i don't care about eSports in general.
Again, the very act of bothering to answer conflicts with the statement. Which is it?

It's really not that difficult, let me walk you through it:

Article: "Will you be watching the latest Screen To Speed event? Let us know in the comments below."
tpfitz "I will not be watching because... [reasoning]"

Did you only want positive, affirmative answers? Or just Yes/No without saying why? Or is "I don't care about that stuff" a bad reason in your mind?

Well at least give a good reason then

nobody reading all that bro.

If you don't care, why bother commenting at all? Bit of an oxymoron
That's just pathetic. You have no good counter to what he said other than a childish retort.

Did you ever think that maybe he doesn't care about the esports and the multitude of "insert special interest group Days here" , but he does care about the politics and agendas behind things like this?

Plus the article did ask people if they were going to watch. Don't want to hear the answer, don't ask the question.

Tell us with what brand of crisps you will watch <esports> event.

I have to laugh everytime about the pattern:

RD: "Eeee-sports event"
First comment: "I dont care about esports event"

This is why i click despite having little interest, but now its reminded me i might get prostate cancer at some point :(.
