For an entire week, all of RaceRoom was free to access, as Sim racers got the opportunity to try any piece of content in all modes the sim has to offer, completely free of charge. Now, KW Studios has another treat for anyone who has found new favorites during the Free Access period - namely up 50% in discounts during the RaceRoom Summer Sale! The sale starts on Monday, June 26th and lasts until July 13th at midnight CEST.

The free-to-play sim comes with a selection of free content, but has much more to offer: Over 200 cars and more than 50 circuits, most with multiple configurations, await sim racers. Some of them are rarely or not at all found in other sims, but still a great (and sometimes very challenging) experience, as our list of five tracks to try during the Free Access period shows.

For the 2023 Summer Sale, all content is available at a 50% discount, and all packs will have a further discount of 25% applied. This means that even the Premium Pack, which includes every car and track released in RaceRoom to date, will not break your bank at just 7500 vRP, the sim's in-game currency. This means that all RaceRoom content can be had for just €50 if you grab the vRP via redeem code in the RaceRoom store.

The Summer Sale is also a good opportunity to jump into RaceRoom's ranked seasons if you were on the fence about buying the necessary content. The Mazda MX5 Cup, the KTM GTX Trophy and the GT3 Pro Series are aimed at different skill levels of sim racers, and the former two still have three rounds left at Road America, Brno and the Nürburgring-Nordschleife - the GT3 Pro Series is even yet to hold its first round at Most.

In all my years of simracing, I’ve never even tried RaceRoom. AMS 1 & 2, AC, rFactor2 (& occasionally ACC), have been my regular go-to guys for my fix.

I suppose I didn’t think there was any room for another sim in my life. So, in 2023 is it actually worth it? (Especially if I can scoop the lot for £50)

Just recently got it and it's surprised me a little. Just my opinion of course but maybe try it. I've been playing it alot and I have all the others you mentioned

This is important to highlight. It's how you get the best possible deal on VRP.

And depending on your currency conversion choosing Euros or USD or whatever is available may save you money on the conversion. For example, Euro 49.99 would cost me $72.05 while USD 49.99 would cost me 65.99.

Choose United States in the top-right country select to enable US dollars.

Then you'll get this with US prices:

Also of note there's a $64.99 for 10,000 points deal which is even greater value for your money, although only slightly but you'll have extra points left over for new content.

I think it is a good idea from a sellers standpoint.
The free trial and subsequent sale exposes the title to potential purchaser, who'd probably have otherwise never considered the title.
I personally do not run it as much as my other 'go-to' titles but it is not bad overall.
I don't like the car skins nickle and diming. I find that aspect a bit irritating.
If I buy a car, it should come with ALL of the skins.

Such a great sim. While I prefer the FFB in AMS2 currently, you know how that is. Probably means I just need to play R3E more ;)

Great content, dated graphics, no weather or night, FFB is all right, but not super convincing comparing to ACC or AC. Got almost all content but hate to admit that it's the least played sim in my library.

If only the DTM 2013 pack was still on Steam, complete with cars AND tracks. I'd buy it in a heartbeat, now that 2013 feels nostalgic.

It depends on your personal requirements in terms of graphics and features. It's top art in old technology.

If you need modern lightning and shaders to enjoy your racing sims, it may not be your thing (just watch gzmeplay videos and keep in mind games generally look better while you're playing than while watching a video).

If you need night & day cycle and rain, they won't make it in the sim.

What you may like : unique content (cars and tracks), attention to details, unmatched sound design (I insist, imo sound design in a racing title is a critical aspect and RRE is on another planet, only matched by RSS mods), ease of use (it wasn't the case few years ago), enjoyable offline racing (the adaptive AI feature is interesting) and online racing (contacts have been very well managed since the launch of the game ; not sure there are a lot of players though, you have to check).

I won't speak about physics and FFB as it became something really personnal. Physics in RRE are generally well reviewed, FFB is, as any title, a personal view.

Anyway, you can download the game and tey all the cars before buying anything.

I haven't played a lot RRE these years, by lack of time, but tried a lot of content today. It was absolutely amazing and I have to admit, almost ashamed, I enjoyed the GT3s!!! they are lively, the ferrari is a beast (my next buy tomorrow!). The only GT3 that good (and fast in my hands) i the old Ford GT. These cars were so awful during years in RRE, I'm suprised. The Porsche GTE is insane (both categories don't feel as good in other sims, except iracing as I don't own the game and can't make the comparison).

The modern GT2 cars are absolutely atrocious, less downforce, lot of understeering, the added power, compared to GT3s, is not interesting.

The GTR2 category, the old NGT / GT2 official FIA category is close to the GT3s (I'm one second less in the GTR2 cars but, although they are still more fun, they are not that much ; few months ago, there were no comparison). It's a shame though that there is only one car il the GTE category, it was the second most amazing surprise for me today.

I discover the trucks, they are good but I'm not that interested.

I have doubts about buying the asian tracks pack, as I didn't know the tracks I didn't own (except Zuhai, wich is an average track). But with slow categories, they are great. I would have never tried these cars without this free event, I'll buy this (unique) content.

I think RRE did a good communication job, stating few weeks ago that the game would evolve (graphically) thanks to new means, making available for free all of the content, and now organizing the summer sales. It is a smart move, and smart moves has been uncommon in the simracing genre for a few years. Well done RRE.

What has been always true with RRE is that you know what you pay for. The company stick to this. The game is solid and there is no false promise.

I had a fun online experience on a ranked server but not sure about the system, as a wheel in a curb gave me a racing incident.

Anyway, if really you can get all the content for the price announced there, it's absolutely worth the buy.

RaceRoom is just as good as it was in 2022, as good as it was in 2021, and as good as it was in 2020. Meanwhile everything else has moved forwards.

The problem has always been that those who already purchased the Premium Pack can not purchase it again to top off their content.

Have they changed that?
100% this...

I supported this game for years and used to buy all their content... when the Premium pack was released I bought that assuming future content would be discounted as per the other track and car packs..

The fact that you can't rebuy (or top up) the premium pack to obtain the new content at the same discounted rate is such a bad business model.. I havent bought a single thing since out of principal..

They would've got much more money from me if they applied the same discount to ongoing new content for premium pack owners.. instead they have made $0 ..

Seems i'm not the only one..

Shame it's not a bad game..
