rFactor 2 & Future Reiza Pack Update!

Porsche rF2.png
Just today rFactor 2 by Studio 397 has received an update to all of its GTE cars and the Oreca 07. This update includes new Goodyear tires, car specific sound updates, GTE B.O.P. updates, shift protection updates & brake and engine cooling parameters.

You can read all about the update notes on the next page of this article and you're game should immediately update next time you open Steam to enjoy the new updates.

Also there has been a very interesting post buried within the S397 forums, confirming that a much long awaited update to the Reiza pack for rFactor 2 will be happening possibly within the next few months!

This is fantastic news for both fans of S397 & Reiza, as the Reiza pack brings several great assets from the original Automobilista (Reiza) into Rfactor 2 (S397).
These include some excellent cars such as Puma's, MCR's & Formula Vee, along with fantastic tracks (some of which include historical variants) such as Imola & V.I.R. plus a couple of lesser known but excellent South American tracks like Ibarra & Guapore!

Here is a short video discussing the updates in more detail:

Ehhh, they have time for new content updates? What about fixing the sound for mods who use the legacy sound? The opponents sound as load as the sound of the car I am driving in which drives me crazy in less then one minute. Am I the only one or are there other people who hear the same? Why is there no volume slider for "opponents sound" to fix this?

:) It will be the opposite when you drive cars that ARE balanced. You can barely hear the other cars. Yes they have time for content updates, every 3 months, tracks and cars that provide income. If you would like to purchase the company and fully support it's costs, we all then could have free content forever. Up to you though...(childish on my party. sorry)
They have added one slider, I would hope they DO add one like you are suggesting in the not to distant future. For now, turn most of the legacy sliders down to 10% or less except for the your engine volume.
If you are using 3rd party cars, it is up to the mod creators to update their sounds. You should try contacting them.
Official cars will be updated first by new releases, and then by backtracking to complete older content. I think we won't see ALL the old content updated but probably, eventually all the DLC plus cars they have spent some time updating like the Tatuus, the SF2000, the Mclaren pack. And we won't see it all at once. they spent two months updating just 7 cars.
The dreaded Euro-TaketheentiremonthofAugustoffforvacation is coming, that may slow down many of their projects.

I can't remember I said anything about having problems with paying for content. I only think at this moment fixing the broken audio would have higher priority. How difficult can it be to aid an audio slider? I have tried all possible legacy audio slider settings, including what you suggest, but it does not fix the sound for me.

Isn't that why we use sim dashboard, sim hub to get away from stock dashes ?
Who these days drives with a virtual wheel showing anyway ?
S397 would not sell enough to pay for upgrades, is it any wonder
I don't remember anyone saying it had a 10 year cycle
I was telling ISI to greenlight gmotor3.0 almost that long ago
What people don't seem to be able to wrap their heads around they are limited to basically gmotor2. You know how many bugs there still are in GTR2 ?

If it is so easy why hasn't a mod team released rFactor2 "reloaded" in a decade

I drive with virtual wheel and prefer not having a floating dash in front of me while the cockpit in-game moves around differently.

Hey all, does anybody else has the problem that the GTE cars are extremly slippery after the tire update? I can't take the first two corners without sliding or spinning and after that the tires are completly gone and it's not getting better.

I'm curious about Motorsport Games and Studio 397's future is going to be.

First stop is Andrea's Surfers Paradise in the Oreca, then C7R, RSR then M8. The track is mighty and with the recent audio improvements there I'm sure this is going to be a very enjoyable day.
do you have a link for the track?

amazing last update for rF2, the sounds of gte is so good!! well done s397!!

Sure do mate,

Such a great mod, the best Surfers track by far in any sim.

Edit: Not sure why but RD censors it. The stars should read (wixsite .com) , just remove the space.

5 euro than it must be very good, do you have a video of the track?

It has been improved since this video since, Ai, track reflections and pop in and more are much better yet it still looks and feels great. This is not my video, its taken from the site that you can purchase the track and many others. All scratch made as far as i know.

There are cars in which the dashboard is not on the steering wheel and you can't turn them off.
Anyway the biggest letdown dashboard I've ever seen is what the old Callaway Corvette GT3 has, it looks like how an v0.1 alpha mod would, it's a joke.

I'm pretty sure that Phillip Island is not scratch made, it was made in Bob's Track Builder then somebody converted into rF2 and then Andrea1968 updated it.
I know it was made in BTB because the road mesh is visibly angular in turns and the shape and texture of the kerbs is one of the defaults in BTB.:D
So I wouldn't be surprised if that would be the histrory of other Andrea tracks.

I'm almost certain this mod is a conversion (and upgrade with new textures, objects, shaders, road mesh) of the old Neel Jani 2004 version Surfers Paradise version. Because it has the same big inaccuracies. Including things Andrea seems to have changed but did not make historically accurate – like the kerb profiling, which is better than the old rF1/GTR2 version, but still too flat. The main thing I do not understand about this track mod is that it's a 'modern-esque' upgrade of a layout that no longer exists, and some of those modernized aspects make the track unusable for simulating a period-accurate CART or V8 Supercars race (which is what I'd want to use it for). Given all this, I think conversions of the zolee145 Gold Coast mod (for the post-2010 shortened layout) are better... IMO that mod is more true-to-life and at least simulates something from real life.

For those wondering what the longer, pre-2010 layout of Surfers looked like back in the day, see below. No mod has come close to capturing it yet. It's about time that changed. LIDAR for Surfers exists, by the way, but to my knowledge no one has used it to build a high quality track mod. I keep expecting Reiza to dive in and release a version of this track :roflmao: but they never have sadly.

Maybe try a different compound? Possibly running with the lowest tyre pressures is not the best strategy anymore with the new tyre model.
