The sixth season of the Porsche Esports Supercup on iRacing begins in only a couple of weeks, and the series has been given a major shake-up.
Competing for a share of $200,000 will be the 30 top iRacing pros in the upcoming Porsche Esports Supercup. Many retained their places, a few raced to keep them and there are even some new names for this season.
For nine weeks, they will do battle in the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup car on a range of iconic circuits, including the Daytona Road Course for the first time. Along with that come many other changes for the new season.
What is different is the amount of races, having been ten in all prior seasons and now down to seven. Plus, the schedule has been condensed so rounds now take place for the most part every week, just like the Qualifying Series and Contender Series.
Plus for the first time, a shake up to the format for some of the events takes place.
For Round 4 on the Watkins Glen Classic circuit, the Sprint and Main race structure takes a back seat. Instead, there will be five three-lap heats with six drivers in each race, the top two in each race go straight to the final whilst the remaining drivers go the Consolation eight-lap race. The top five from that race will go to the final, which will be 16 laps.
Also for the finale on Monza, both races will be 14 laps rather than having a Sprint, meaning it will also have a Main race points payout. As a result, the maximum amount of points a driver can earn goes up from 85 to 110.
At the end of the season, the champion will walk away with $50,000 whilst the driver with the most poles will earn a TAG Heuer Connected watch.
You can also expect to see 2013 Indy 500 winner Tony Kanaan in these races, and maybe even Jimmy Broadbent who has been in the series before.
Not only that, but whilst the pros exclusively drive the 992 GT3 Cup, the All-Stars get to enjoy a wider range of Porsche cars on iRacing.
For the first two rounds, they will drive the 963 GTP/LMDh, and then the 992 GT3 R for the following two rounds. For the last three rounds, it will be business as usual in the 992 GT3 Cup for the All-Stars.

- Rd 2: Hockenheimring GP – 10 February
- Rd 3: Circuit de 24 Heures du Mans – 17 February
- Rd 4: Watkins Glen Classic – 2 March (Mid Season Tournament)
- Rd 5: Red Bull Ring GP – 16 March
- Rd 6: Imola GP – 30 March
- Rd 7: Monza – 6 April (Both Races Same Length)
