After running on many different platforms, Rennsport is the new home of the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup Deutschland. Additionally, the sim will have a massive key drop to go along with it.

The Porsche Esports Carrera Cup Deutschland has gone through various guises, running on RaceRoom in 2020, then iRacing in 2021. The championships were won by now-ESL R1 drivers for MOUZ, Moritz Löhner and Max Benecke respectively.

The revival of PECCD will be on the third different platform in as many editions. It will become the second competitive championship on Rennsport after ESL R1. The season is getting underway in just under a month, and drivers can compete for a share of €25,000.

Rennsport are also about to drop their biggest set of closed beta access keys yet. So stick around to find out how you can be in with a chance of taking part in the series.

PECCD: Format

The season will consist of five online rounds held between December and March, with a final in April. The way to qualify for the initial rounds will be two sets of 60-minute hotlap qualifier sessions. One will be held on a Friday, the other on a Saturday.

After those two sessions, the twelve drivers with the best times are able to compete. There will be two sets of races, with the first race’s grid set by a traditional qualifying session. But that race does not count for points, and instead just sets the grid for the all-important second race.

Once the first five rounds are done, the best 12 drivers in the standings qualify for the final. To keep things exciting for the final, all the competitor’s points are averaged out. So if a driver scores 80 points, this will be divided by the number of rounds. That means that their points heading into the final becomes 16.

For that final, there will be three races. The points the drivers earn from them will be divided again by the number of races. They will then be added on to the amount that they entered the final with. The combined total will then decide the final order.

Of course like in all Carrera Cup championships, drivers will race the spec 911 Cup car. The 992 GT3 Cup was recently added to Rennsport. However, many players still do not have access to the title. That will soon change.

Rennsport: 15k keys
If you are still waiting for access to the Rennsport beta, you may be in luck. On 24 November, the dev team are handing out 15,000 keys, and if you have been on the waiting list since 2022, you are almost certain to get one, as per the latest community talk session.

For those who would like a chance of getting access, sign up now to the beta waitlist.

Also on 24 November, a new update is coming to the beta. Included in it are TCR cars, Road Atlanta and Daytona Road Course, plus revised force feedback amongst other features. That along with all the pre-existing cars and tracks will be available in Rennsport, so keep an eye on your inbox to see if you are one of the 15,000 key recipients.

Should you get a key or already have one, you may be within a chance of qualifying for the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup Deutschland. Join the PECCD Discord for all information on dates which are subject to change.

All rounds will all be broadcast to the Porsche Twitch channel and the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland YouTube channel.

why would you go to this heavy in development sim if you are PCCesports...?? This game won't feel ready for at least another six or more months. Everything is alpha, physics, visuals etc

True. I for one am interested in what tracks they will be using. Rennsport only really have Hockenheim compared to what is on the PCCD real world schedule. Nürburgring too but they use the GP sprint layout which is not available on Rennsport.

The real world series is going to Imola, Oschersleben, Zandvoort, Hungaroring, Sachsenring and the Red Bull Ring. Got to wonder which of those will be part of the esports series providing the Rennsport devs have been working on them.

was pleased I got a key for the beta but in the end I think I put in a few hours and uninstalled.
Its not that it is in alpha I understand things need to be improved .
Its just I don't get this game it literally offers nothing that isn't done better on an existing game.
There is nothing unique nothing to draw you in or perhaps better said draw you away from a current sim.
add to that the godawfully blurry graphics all modern race games seem to have and mediocre sound and I am out.
There will probably be a playerbase for it but it's not me

Round 1 Spa, Round 2 Spa, Round 3 Spa, Round 4 Spa...
Honestly, not too far removed from ESL R1's state in the Spring. Round 1 Spa, Round 2 Hockenheim, Round 3 Nürburgring and repeat that cycle again before another Spa and Hockenheim round.

Fall Season was infinitely better, with only two repeats of tracks.

I think I'm in the same boat as most people that have revieced a key.
I play it for about an hour once a new update drops get bored and forget it exists until I see some news about a new update.
It really is lacking in content to recommend and I feel that focusing on esports this early in development might actually be hurting the game.
I really want this to turn out to be a great sim but as it stands its sterile and boring.

Given their physics base isn't in question like other options I can see why they'd go to Rennsport instead of rF2 or iRacing... The only sane choices if you want your cars to be remotely represented in the physics department...

You can be part of something that the sim racing world wants if they pull off their vision...

Plus a German championship and the term Rennsport go hand in hand...

Not sure I'll watch it but it's promising news given all that's gone on this year with sim racing...

It's got a long way to go but I like Rennsports chances... That physics base just can't be questioned and the only things that will lead them astray is the feedback and their own philosophies... Not the base code being that bad...

This rennsport news is a literal waste of internet data until the general public can play this game, no keys or other bs needed
Wait for the release campaign, I'm expecting something like AMS2 did. Flooding the internet with reviews by 2nd hand wannabee youtubers and other evangelists, stating that this is finally changing the way they see simracing. Only to read the Steam Charts a month later and discover that actually nobody is playing it.

At least AMS2 is quite good. I don't imagine this will be given what I've read so far.
yeah but since when is it "quite good"? definitely not since its release june 2020. I'd say it took AMS2 almost two years after the initial release to 'get good'.
Rennsport is not even close to being an Early Access title on Steam.

Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland != Porsche Supercup

PCCD was racing on 7 tracks in 2023:
  • Spa-Francorchamps
  • Hockenheimring
  • Zandvoort
  • Nürburgring
  • Lausitzring
  • Sachsenring
  • Red Bull Ring
