A new NASCAR game is on its way, but it is not going to be a simulator: NASCAR Arcade Rush has been announced for 2023 release on PC and consoles. But just how much NASCAR is going to be in the game?
It is already in the name that the game is not aimed at sim racers per se, but a rather casual audience instead. NASCAR Arcade Rush promises "heart-pumping, high-speed competition and action of one of the world's top motorsports with wildly reimagined spins on NASCAR's most legendary tracks."
Interestingly, these tracks mostly seem to be inspirations for the settings of circuits but are not the trademark ovals NASCAR races on for the majority of the season. Thus far, Talladega, Daytona, Darlington, Martinsville and Homestead are confirmed to be in the game, and the screenshots available with the announcement show the circuits resembling those of kart racers.

Considering publisher GameMill Entertainment's experience with titles of this nature, this should come as no surprise: The studio's portfolio includes the Nickelodeon Kart Racers series, Cruisn' Blast and Monster Jam Crush It, all of which feature elements like outrageous jumps, fireworks and physics-defying turns.

Game modes are set to include a Cup Series career mode, quick race and time attack for the single-player portion of the game, while a 12-car online multiplayer mode will be available alongside a split-screen mode, allowing for local races with friends.
NASCAR Arcade Rush can be preordered for $49.99 already. A digital-exclusive Project-X Bundle is available at $59.99, which adds the following bonuses:
The game will be available on PC, Playstation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. An exact release date has not been given yet.

The vehicles will be customizable with paint schemes, rims, spoilers and visual effects, while their drivers can be equipped with different race suits and helmets.
