A front-mid-engine race car version of the road-going sports car, the GT2 features a 4.0-litre twin-turbo engine with a flat-plane crank. In 2022, the AMG GT ‘Track Series’ version was allowed to race in the GT2 European Series, but for the most recent season, a formal GT2-spec model was launched.

Fun fact, Fanatec CEO Thomas Jackermeier drove one of these for one round in last year’s GT2 European Series.

You may also recognise a small logo on its steering wheel, representing a partnership between the Affalterbach-based car company and Cube Controls who create a three-pointed-star-branded sim racing wheel.

The AMG follows the announcement of five additional cars for the upcoming set which includes two Porsche varieties, the Maserati MC20, Audi R8 and KTM X-Bow.

Below is the initial list of cars that developer Kunos Simulazioni co-founder Marco Marco Massarutto expressed the desire to include upon the 2022 announcement of GT2 inclusion. We’ve struck off everything confirmed so far:
  • Audi R8 LMS GT2
  • Brabham BT63 GT2
  • KTM X-Bow GT2
  • Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo GT2
  • Maserati MC20 GT2
  • Mercedes-AMG GT2
  • Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo
  • Porsche 935 (2019)
Of note, the Lamborghini used in GT2 competitions was a modified version of the existing Super Trofeo one-make car already available for ACC. It remains to be seen if the tweaked version will be part of the new content pack.

Recently, Brabham Group & Brabham Automotive parted ways, causing the cessation of the BT62 and BT63 programmes. It casts doubt over licencing possibilities, let’s see in the fullness of time if it can make it into Assetto Corsa Competizione.

Assetto Corsa Competizione GT2 Pack PC release date

Assetto Corsa Competizione’s GT2 DLC will be released for PC on 24th January 2024.

PlayStation and Xbox versions are yet to be confirmed, or if a new circuit is to be included (or not).

The Nürburgring Nordschleife is expected later in the year as part of a separate set.

Will you be competing with the GT2 cars upon their launch for ACC? Let us know in the comments below.

7 days before it is available, looking forward to it.

The attention to details, among other thing, is what, to me, makes Kunos work so endearing. :D

I'm really looking forward to it especially after I saw the video of the real Mercedes GT2 Pro put out by Mercedes a few weeks ago. I'm more excited for this than any other GT2 series car. I don't know much about GT2 but I know it'll be fun. Hopefully a track is included with it, but I'm not holding my breath. But fingers are crossed for something maybe Redbull Ring or another track GT2 races on we don't have.

How do you know its unfinished?
Why would KS not release it right now if it's already finished? What diabolical scheme could they be devising to withhold the game from us lol
KS can charge whatever they want for Nords DLC and 99% of us will pay it. This will without a doubt be their best-selling DLC. But... naw they're just going to sit on it for a while after it's completed and ready for release? :roflmao:

TBF it's probably pretty close to finished at this point, assuming a Summer release. But I'd rather they take the time to make it amazing instead of a rushed mess :geek:

I am really looking forward to the pack, especially the Maserati. I believe we are unlikely to recieve any more cars than that we have been presented already, as Kunos mentioned that there were only going to be 6 cars when it was announced ahead of time. The 488 and Huracan can probably be just driven alongside these 6 GT2 cars, as I imagine they wouldn't require considerable modifications to be competitive. Plus LFM for instance have their own BoP.

Ugh I am not a fan of this dragged out marketing that KS started doing. At least this time i feell "meh" about the actual pack so its not so bad waiting :).

I believe the logo presence must be a mandatory as part of the license deal.

I hope someday they fix some visuals too like the rolling tyre slow motion animation and the rain, either on windshield and body of the car.
Truth, there's some really bad visual effects both big and small that really shouldn't take much to fix but would make a world of difference. Shadows are a mess, rearview mirrors are PS2 quality with no car shadow textures and garbage LODS, weird slow rolling tire animation, rain not showing on windows and cars, bizzare rain rooster tails aka splash farts

Also hope one day we can remove all the dudes in the crowd waving the random colored flags with no words or logos on them. Is this a normal sight at an SRO event? lol who thought that was a cool idea.
