Have Your Say - What is Your SECOND Favourite GT3 Racing Sim

Second Best GT3 Sim 01.jpg
GT3 continues to be a favourite class among sim racers even outside of ACC, and we want to hear what your other go-to GT3 racing sim is.

Assetto Corsa Competizione has a huge roster of GT3 and GT4 cars, officially licensed by SRO. Its unwavering dedication to recreating the experience of driving a modern GT car has created arguably the most accurate recreation of a race series in gaming. Assuming this is the benchmark for you for GT3 racing (and please feel free to express an opinion otherwise in the comments below), what do you think is the second best way to experience GT3 racing in sims?

Continuing our weekly series where your responses in the comments below are the real story, we want to know where else you race GT3 cars, and why. Below are just some possibilities, but please let us know your own preference in the comments.
  • RaceRoom Racing Experience - RaceRoom's huge GT3 roster, known in game as GTR3, spans several years and includes some rarities from the world of GT3. Sector 3 has continued to add to the class in R3E, and newer versions of cars from Audi and Porsche are now present. The hugely customizable race setup allows multi-class racing, but sadly no night or wet weather.
  • rFactor 2 - On the eve of the release of the BMW M4 GT3, rFactor 2 offers players a growing roster of cars and licensed tracks to drive on. The recently updated UI allows us to get racing faster and easier than ever. The force feedback and car physics in rF2 are among the best in any sim, but adding the GT3 cars to your collection is very costly.
  • iRacing - The king of online racing could perhaps be the most pure way to enjoy GT3 racing from the comfort of your home. The car roster is not huge, but what is on offer in iRacing is nicely recreated. Obviously a monthly subscription is required to use the GT3 cars, but then you can compete against other and grow your virtual career as a GT3 driver.
These are just some of the ways to enjoy GT3. So whether its any of these or a different sim altogether, let us know your favourite ACC alternative in the comments below.

You don't need to come to an agreement in a discussion, that's why opinions exist.
Yes but banging on about it ad nauseam when there's no likelihood of a conclusion just means people having to wade through pages of the same opinions.
Many of which are available (mostly from the same people saying the same things) in various other threads.

I don't think the physics things that were talked about in this thread have really been elaborated on anywhere else on RD. So what's your problem? Furthermore how are they even really off-topic? They have to do with specifically GT3 cars.

I think you already covered physics in the prerelease announcement article plus in various other threads on RD.

Just because it doesn't seem to mean anything to you doesn't mean it isn't valuable to someone else who wants to know. Very specific questions were asked.

Absolutely. Please do something about this guy, he turns every thread from every game that isnt AC into his personal propaganda blog, in which he reashes the same old mantras, and stirs arguments with various users.

Everytime i open a thread to read what people have to say about a particular update or content, its page after page of this...

He can go talk all that in the AC forums.

Literally the only person here who is trying to start an argument right now is you. You're aggressive towards absolutely everyone who doesn't completely agree with you and post what you want to hear, get a grip.

How you can say that with a straight face is amazing.
Start your own thread about racing game physics and realism by all means and you can cover them in depth and length.
Then people who are interested can get insight and information and weigh the pros and cons of it.

No comment on your first line.

Nobody has ever elaborated on RD why Cphys features are thought to be superior to specifically rF2 features. It got claimed by mclarenf1papa earlier but not elaborated in-detail, which is why an user asked about it here. I think it's dishonest to just say something and then not elaborate about it when people ask specifically.

Although I guess it's okay to shout out random abuse or praise towards products with no elaboration that'll *definitely* never lead to any kind of consensus or learning. Hell, I still remember when you stepped in once Trava gave detailed advice to a beginner 3D modeler, just because some people didn't like it. You guys have a real talent for moderation I tell you.

Anyway, I get your point, no discussions in media posts that have a topic so shallow that people just start asking questions instead, got it.

Well as I said start a thread and discuss it.
You guys have a real talent for moderation I tell you.
As I've said before if you're not happy with my moderation decisions use the "contact us" form at the bottom of every page and senior managers will deal with it.

The main reason I don't make threads and answer questions in the media posts is because of visiblity. But alright, if they don't belong here, then I won't do it.

I am not so cruel as to bring flak on someone and perhaps jeopardize their position for minor stupidity, because we all make mistakes. Although next time that you start trying to actively harm someone's learning process (Said 3D beginner I mentioned later got into a private convo with Trava for more information, while the jannies and everyone else was trying to censor the discussion) then sure, I can make a formal complaint.

You mean after you caused ructions in that thread where I suggested to either start a thread or use PM's which is what he did in the end.
Now you've taken this thread off track enough so drop it.

Assetto Corsa, but only with paid content from the likes of RSS, VLC and Guerilla Mods.

I prefer iRacing (for competition) followed by AMS2 (jump in and go with great graphics/ffb/weather).

As much as I like ACC and agree it’s the GT3 benchmark I’ve all but abandoned it due to having to lower graphic settings, opponents, avoiding nights and rain, and just can’t hold a steady FPS.
Yeah low opponents really kinda kills it for me cause in real life gt3 they have huge grids

Previously I woukd've said rF2 as 2nd tier.
But since ca. mid 2021 I'd go with AMS2. Mainly due to the total sim immersion experience.
If it comes strictly to tyre handling and direct feedback of changes in car setup file, however I'll still go with rF2.
But speaking 'the full package of sim GT experience' there's no doubt for me: AMS2.
Though it's still stimulating simulating modern GT endurancing racing in rF2 for me.

Should say I'm an old classic race car head, but got teased by news of ACC when it was introduced and got really into it during a period for 6 months or so, at first quickly raising my ACC ratings (just by following Aris' splendid advices at his YT channel, thanks Aris).
An then again up to the big first rF2 LM event or rather when Portland for rF2 was introduced.
But that was before I acquired AMS2 and way before the FFB+ update last summer.

But maybe I'm not the person to ask since modern GT racing still isn't my primary interest of simracing.
