When the physics stink you can see it even in a promotional video as we might see at the car sliding at 34 seconds
Although I agree with you, the slide on itself is not that unrealistic at all and quite common in F1. In case you don't agree with me, just check some youtube videos, you'll find enough of the past years with similar slides.

I will wait for the reviews. I got F1 2020 for 1$ last year when I bought some Fanatec gear, played it for a while but have not since October. The story mode is a big turnoff for me: these « stories » are always full of clichés, a bit like that stupid « Journey » mode in FIFA. I’ll leave the Saturday morning cartoons to the kids...

Yeah, lots of Hype! Slightly mad used to be the hype Kings, till Codemasters took over.
Exciting times for the young ones.

Pre-ordered about a month ago, however to lessen the excruciating wait I've completely gone mad with mods and made F1 2020 into F1 2021.

[Obligatory No VR No Buy comment here]

I don't even have a VR
For this game to have VR it would need to be a new game not a rehash of f12018/19/20.
I am sure they going to do fine without VR, they know their audience. Most don’t even bother with a wheel.
It is all about the career dude!

It simulates a F1 season better than any other game. ACC for example, while a great game, does a poor job simulating a GT world season. No safety cars or FCY for example.

Yep, that’s the big flaw of ACC: no safety car.

The Codemasters games do get it right when it comes to simulating the rules and the pace of a GP. However, the races themselves are very predictable. The AI never makes mistakes and there aren’t enough retirements or random events.

Yeah the VR comment was a joke (hence the spoiler at the end). I do find it funny calling it a rehash of 2018/19/20 though. I recently replayed F1 2018 having played F1 2020 non-stop for months. They play completely differently. The driving model is a very noticeable difference (and is apparently set to be even better still this year from the preview feedback). And Codies have been very busy adding new stuff, especially F2 cars in 2019 and MyTeam in 2020, much more than certain nameless other sports games add each year [don't remind me who just bought Codies]. As you say, they know their audience (I can identify in the non-wheel category as well!), and will play to that audience.

The new game this season is supposed to add a scale for retirements/safety cars/random player failures for the first time etc. It apparently goes from off (in some cases), to reduced, regular, and increased. Which is a very good move imo. I do occasionally see the AI make mistakes, certainly much more than in previous years. And there is set to be a setting that is make the weather forecast less accurate (so a bit more realistic), so that may satisfy the 'more random' events, or at least less predictable events.
