Formula 1's eighth race of the 2022 season sees the field take to the streets of Azerbaijan with Red Bull and Max Verstappen carrying heavy championship momentum into the weekend.

Sergio Perez collected his first win of the season at Monaco the last time F1 raced, notching the fifth win for Red Bull over seven races. Red Bull and driver Max Verstappen now hold the lead in both the constructors and drivers championships.

Ferrari's strong start to the season has slowed somewhat, though Carlos Sainz managed to split the podium finishes for Red Bull last time out. His teammate Charles Leclerc was unable to collect a first victory at his home race, though his fourth place finish was better than many previous outings in Monaco.

George Russell's impressive season continued through the seventh race, as he crossed the line with his Mercedes with yet another top five finish. Teammate Lewis Hamilton looked stronger in Monaco than he had in previous races this season, but could not find his way past Fernando Alonso and was the first in a long train of cars that stagnated on a track where overtaking is rare.

Finishing behind Russell was Lando Norris, who has been the better performing driver for McLaren this season. His team finds themselves with a sizable gap to the next constructor in the championship for the first time this year.

Azerbaijan has typically afforded significant passing opportunities thanks to a long, flat-out and DRS-assisted run from turn 19 to turn 1, so this should be an exciting race. Ferrari will look to reclaim some momentum in the championship standings another strong finish from Sainz or Leclerc. Will the red team fight back against the blue team after having no wins since Australia?

He was robbed, the FIA said the rules weren't applied correctly and they got rid of Masi.
We were all robbed to some degree.

how much pressure does merc have? and put the British press on it?


please stop Max just deserved the world title won by the same club FIA people came mercedes back into the 2021 WDC due to ridiculous Max penalties

I don't have any deleted posts about Hamilton.

Are you being delusional, paranoid or schizophrenic my mate? Do you tell this stuff to anybody who talks about porpoising for other teams? Wow.. just wow.

I bet you're going way too far in being over protective for this baby Hamilton.
He's a driver, just like any other driver. He's a human, just like any of us. He's in the show business and thus you can talk about his performance, why not?

All fans of all sports or football or arts or music or politics have said what they think about them for decades now. I am a normal human. I can't believe this is the year 2000 Gregorian.
We can say that any F1 driver is equal to anyone else, no one is sacred or holly, and you shouldn't play cards to stop us from doing that.

I have a lot to say about Ferrari and reliability and it might be the opposite to what many people think right now, and I might even convince people if they heard me out.

But that reactions and accusations when it came to LH stopped me and turned me off totally, honestly.
You can't talk nowadays without being heavily slammed on your head by an iron hammer.

but I hope you stay away from making it personal afterwards.
(Also, I hope RD won't delete our chat. Mature conversations help

1- Yes, there are bad acts in this world.
I said once in RD that we haven't been so critical towards Miami GP shortcomings (like tarmac), same as much as we have been against Saudi Arabian GP (curbs paint). Do you remember how many people asked to boycott Aramco and the GP because of their culture?
RD deleted the comment because in this world, you can't defend Muslims without being deleted. It's a fact that they are the most persecuted group.
So calm down! I agree with you. but back to the topic now:

2. Robbed? I can say in your logic that we (racing fans) have been robbed of a decade of competitive racing. Because when Merc had the dominant hybrid car for 7 years, people played the same card to protect its dominance and deleted any comment about it.

TLDR: Everyone matters and not only your favorite driver.

We weren't robbed of anything. There were a set of rules applied correctly and consistently and the best team won.
Mercedes are trailing now so the rules should not be amended to suit them, they need to do a better job. If the rules are not fudged then the best team (Redbull at the moment) will win.

edit: actually there was some funny business going on with Ferrari and their engine which appeared not to be handled properly

I was reffering to your deleted posts of, in your opinion, excessive tv coverage of gentlemen with a particular skin colour and girlfriiends of another at the Miami GP. Yes, the same skin colour as Lewis. It would not have made it any better if you had complained of other skin colours.

The posts were quite correctly deleted.

I wonder why almost every F1 race thread degenerates into a pro vs anti Lewis Hamilton discussion, where the same arguments are repeated ad nauseam.
Here's a thought why not just discuss the actual race that's in the thread title
