Circuit Superstars Races onto Nintendo Switch

Since its release in October 2021, Circuit Superstars has seen positive reception among fans of racing games. The top-down racer with sim elements has since seen the addition of a PlayStation 4 version to add to the PC and Xbox One versions - and soon, you will be able to take the game on the road with you: On June 21st, Circuit Superstars launches on Nintendo Switch.

With its top-down view and cutesy graphics, Circuit Superstars can be a fun and casual racer, but its driving physics and elements like tire wear and fuel consumption make it possible to sink your teeth into it more than you might anticipate at first - the hunt for that extra tenth on the stopwatch can be quite addicting, actually.

Considering the crossplay capabilities of all versions released thus far, the Switch version is a logical next step: Being able to take to the virtual grid in all sorts of vehicles from modern and classic formula cars, prototypes, touring cars plus even racing trucks and many more, has been on the wishlists of the game's fans for quite a while. While already possible on Valve's Steam Deck, the Switch is much more commonplace.

Beat the Pros

Circuit Superstar's tracks are mostly simple, but share similarities with real-life circuits - any guesses on which venues Faenza or Rennvoort are meant to emulate? The selection also includes ovals, dirt tracks and the Top Gear Test Track at Dunsfold Aerodrome, which saw a number of racing drivers and influencers try their hand at the Top Gear Time Attack event to launch the game. Players can try and beat their times by acquiring the free DLC - so if you want to compete with the likes of Romain Grosjean or Lando Norris, this is a good opportunity to do so.

Practically as much gameplay in 1 minute as a Forza Monthly that lasts 1 hour 45 minutes (let's look for the mistake together, there isn't any).

It's sad that Circuits Superstars isn't coming out on PC, so you can relax when you get home.
What are you talking about? It’s out on PC. I literally own it on steam

This game is really good for what it is. Hits all the marks you need for games like this, like races with friends and AI at the same time. The physics are weighty and quite good, although perhaps the brakes are a little too inconsequential.

Full crossplay for online, too. Not too popular, but you can find a match on peak hours fairly easily.

I am terrible at it, but for me it was worth the money - and I am quite the cheapskate about video games nowadays.

The FFB and physics on this are way better than Assetto Corsa. Every real driver knows this.

What does this have to do with sim racing?
Think it is also to inform the sim racers who have (grand)children. While grandpa/dad is using his game gear for ACC/AMs2 his (grand)kids can play on the Nintendo/Tablet/phone.
Edit, and yes it’s based on my experience with my kids.

A beautiful game, very good steering, nevertheless requires some practice and provides an enormous amount of fun. In multiplayer, depending on the time of day, you can always find a some good drivers with whom it is a lot of fun to race. It reminds me of my childhood, where instead of sleeping at a buddy's house, we played a similar game all night on the Amiga. For the low price you pay for it today, I can really recommend it to everyone. I love it!
