The first of the cars to be included in the Challengers Pack DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione has been confirmed as the BMW M2 CS Racing.

The latest news surrounding an upcoming DLC pack for Assetto Corsa Competizione is the confirmation of its first car. The BMW M2 CS Racing will be included in the Challengers Pack DLC, which is scheduled to be released on the 23rd of this month.

The M2 CS Racing is a legitimate race car, though it won't fit into the main GT3 and GT4 classes you'll find in Assetto Corsa Competizione. Like the Huracan Super Trofeo and Porsche Cup cars already present in the title, this new BMW is intended to be used in one-make races.

BMW's M2 CS Racing car is a stripped down version of the M2 road car. It's powered by an inline twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine, which is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. All but the most essential parts are stripped from the interior, which keeps the car light and nimble.

The remaining cars that are to be included in the next ACC DLC have yet to be confirmed, but with less than two weeks to go before the pack is released to the public, we can expect lots of news from the Kunos team very soon.

The game has a lot of circuits, but they are not used for some reason. More tracks are welcome, but people are not going to use them anyway apart from Monza and Spa.
I play against the AI so I make full use of all the circuits available. ACC has a good selection but it could always use more.

The BMW M2 is usaed in the TC France and TC America. I really hope tosee more from the TC series which comes under the SRO series. And from what we have seen, a couple of the American tracks could be added to the DLC.

TBH, when earlier the Huracán ST Evo was announced for an esport series and then no more news were heard, I thought they'd include it in a later GT2 DLC (which was never announced; GT2 not being much popular). By that way, it could then be run as an improvised single series same way as current 18' ST/911Cup, even if the car represented the Evo GT2 BoP.

OTH, if it's a plain ST Evo series spec, I'll be a tiny bit disappointed if they don't include real team/liveries of the support series to run a 21' ST Euro season, but just a presentation livery + esports variations. Wouldn't count on a 22' ST Evo2 so early.
GT2 is apparantly going to be added, but later on. Whether its being delayed or they are adding more other cars/tracks looks more like it.

We've seen the announcement of a Ferrari E-Sports series on ACC, hence the Challenge car I presume.
Maybe they will do something similar with the M2 CS instead of adding more TC cars? As a collaboration with BMW? (just guessing). I mean, the M2 is clearly not a part of SRO series, right? Similar also to the Hurracan ST and the Porsche Cup.
When you look at real racing in the NLS on the Nordschleife, they have a similar scenario with dedicated Cup classes.

That said I was wondering if they will combine some of the cars into a GTC class after the Challengers DLC? Hmm....

As an update to my previous comment: Oh wait, it's really the one-make 22' ST EVO2 - they've just announced it (clip). This is great to keep it current for longer. Wouldn't then expect real liveries at this point (or future), as the european season only starts in April. We'll only miss Portimão for a 22' season.
