Console sim racers were delighted when Assetto Corsa Competizione was updated to v1.9 just three months after the PC version, but a major bug has plagued some players since. A hotfix has been deployed to fix the issue and also address smaller problems tied to the specific consoles.

While the update brought a major physics overhaul to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, it also introduced a bug that caused the player's car to lose traction and seemed to lessen aerodynamic drag considerably at the same time, resulting in excessive top speeds and little to no grip in the corners. Spontaneously exploding tires or engines that would suddenly rev to ludicrous rpm caused unexpected accidents.
The developers have reacted relatively quickly deployed the hotfix to v1.9.1 just over a week after the big update had been released. In addition to the speed, traction and mechanical issues bugs, random freezes for users of Thrustmaster T150 wheels have also been eliminated, as well as a problem that caused race information to disappear. You can find the full changelog including the console-specific fixes below.
