Assetto Corsa Competizione | Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II Confirmed for Challengers Pack DLC

Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II Coming to ACC.jpg
Kunos Simulazioni has revealed the second car that will be included in the upcoming Challengers Pack DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione: the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.

Less than 10 days remain until we'll get our hands on the Challengers Pack DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione, and Kunos has now confirmed the second car that will be included in the pack.

Last week we learned that the BMW M2 CS Racing would be added to the sim, and this latest news confirms that Audi's newest GT race car will join the GT3 roster for ACC.

Similar to Evo versions of other cars in ACC such as the Ferrari 488 and Lamborghini Huracan, the updated Audi doesn't represent a drastic change from the outgoing (Evo) version. The LMS Evo II offers an improved rear wing and front air intake, plus improved suspension.

Under the hood, its 5.2 litre V10 engine is pumping out 585 horsepower, but the Evo II's torque curve has been tweaked. Fans of the existing Audi and Lamborghini models should have no trouble adjusting to driving the new car, but can likely expect a slightly improved driving experience in the car.

Two more announcements are expected from Kunos in the coming days, which should confirm the Ferrari 488 Challenge and Porsche 992 Cup cars' presence in the Challengers Pack DLC.

Check back with RaceDepartment often for confirmation of the remaining cars and pricing for this DLC or join our ACC Racing Club for great online races. If you have any thoughts on this Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II or anything else ACC related, be sure to let us know in the comments below.

If it is COTA only, it will be very disappointing.

I really can't accept the COVID lockdown excuses at this point. If they can't get the data, they can hire a surveyor to laser scan the track or have the manufacturer send 3D models and data to them to develop the Supra. In the meantime, they have heaps of time last year to get all the data and references they need when lockdowns are easing.

A lot of us are able to work from home with some limitations, it seemed like Kunos cease to function because of the lockdown.
Kunos do not only make games, they do other stuff too. Do you think their next game is just gonna come out after 5 minutes of thought or do you think perhaps they've been working on concepts and research ( plus a new engine ) and who knows, maybe even assets. Nah they've been sat on their ass, that definitely seems more likely right!

They are no longer a small developer. They are owned by a medium sized publisher that has decent funds. The days of kunos being a small studio with AC is long gone.

They literally sat there and did nothing for the last year. What did they release in 2021 other than M4 GT3?
They have around 30 people, that's a small developer, and yes they sat on their ass for the last year and did nothing, I'm sure you're totally right. If you tell me you're not 15 years old I'm gonna be shocked.

I mean sim racing isn't a very popular genre of video games, they could have the biggest publisher but the publisher is still going to say something in the sense of "you can be expected to make approx. this many sales, we want profit, so you get this much money to spend for development/licenses/etc..."

If you are not an american and look at the track from an objective point of view then i think most people would agree that COTA is not that exciting of a track. Its more or less your average Hermann Tilke cookie cutter track where you can see how certain sections are artificially put there because they have been somewhere else in other combinations. Its just too convenient, too wide, too curated. I just can't get on with all these 'new' F1 tracks. They are so boring to drive with GT cars because they lack character, there are basically no bumps, all is very smooth and safe. Meh.
I love to feel that a track is "old", not just in the layout and surroundings but also surface.

What is it about Sim-Racing where all the marketing is done by drip feeding tidbits of info here and there.

It doesn't build up anticipation and excitement, it just p***es people off.

To all suppliers of sim racing gear and software - Just inform us of exactly what the product is, give us a release date, and then just STFU.
From February:
In addition, Massarutto told us about updates coming up for 2022, which he stated would include a car pack in “early spring”, and a new track pack in the summer.

We’ve already seen much of the car pack in a teaser posted in late-2021. The cars coming along include the Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo II, as previously confirmed, as well as the Audi R8 LMS Evo II, BMW M2 CS Racing, Ferrari 488 Challenge, and Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 992.
First teaser video last week revealed the exact release date of the car pack, while the exact list of cars to be included is in the interview above from almost a month ago (which corresponds with information that had been available before as well).

For someone mildly interested in the topic, it shouldn't be difficult to piece it together.
You can do everyone a solid, take your attitude and STFU as well.

Then can you explain why they have been so quiet particularly the last year? While other games or even racing games are still able to release content. I’m not expecting as much as pre covid but one car in a whole year is pretty rubbish.

At one point, I thought kunos has abandoned ACC for AC2, in similarly unspectacular and half arse way like AC1. And I still hope to see full GTWC US and Asia content in this game, seemed like it won’t happen now.

For a game based on a real racing series, I still think Kunos did a poor job with it as they can barely keep up with the new tracks and cars in each season. Seemed like Supra or Mustang GT4 will never be in this game.

Thats all you got from 1.8 ? 1 Car ? TBH i wouldnt mind some other developers would stop shoving down our throat content and YET the fricking base game misses a gazilion stuff and his plagued by bugs... no they didnt gave us just one car....actually... they gave us a patch with alot of QOL stuff and DLSS,FSR.... much more stuff.... try asking some developers for DLSS or FSR instead of yet another car :) youll see the answer you get.... btw 1.8 plus the car where FREE !!

But hey...some other games improve the UI while smaller teams manage to pump an entire game + DLCs + measurable improvements....
