Virginia International (VIR) track skin 3.1

This was a little project I did over the Holidays just to learn how to do something new. I never messed with track textures before. It was never intended to be shared, but like my other resources, I always figure someone might get some use out of it, even if it's just one person.

I love VIR, but the tall Pines always bugged me because of how light and washed out they looked so I did some editing to them to try and make them look better. Mind you, i'm no Photoshop expert so don't expect much and none of this makes wholesale changes to the stock look. It's only small tweaks. I already know one of them still has some small bleed through of the old color that I may choose to get rid of at some point.

There are two skins, one just has the three edited Pine files. The other one I went ahead and edited all of the vegetation to fit my system better. They have a little more (or is it less) gamma and some increase in contrast because I like things colorful and less washed out. I did reduce the saturation a tad to compensate for the extra contrast. Be curious to hear if it needs more or less saturation.

There is also an ext_config file included. Even if you don't like the skin, the config may be of use. It makes fall look more like fall. The grass doesn't turn orange and neither do any Pine trees or bushes, because really, when have you ever seen orange Pine trees in the fall.

This may get updated in the future, but i'm okay with it like it is. It does what I wanted it to do and makes the Pine trees easier to look at and that was really the only issue I had with the track. The rest of it is pretty much perfect so why mess with perfection.

This looks really, really great! Thank you so much!
Great, thank you for sharing.
Is the skin compatible with Bobhak Facelift extension please?

No. He used different texture\material names because he basically replaced all of the vegetation with new models. It's a wonderful update and I wish I had his knowledge.
Much better. Here's the five stars that it deserves.
You should keep doing these skins. Ext configs are fine, but it's good to have alternatives (and skins don't get broken with CSP updates).

Thanks. In the future any ext_config update I do will come with an included skin that has all the altered textures. That way if people don't like the ext_config changes, they can still use the updated textures if they want.
This looks great. I hope you finish it off.

Only four stars because some of your textures create an effect that looks like a wire across the tops of the trees.
The way to get rid of this is by moving the image a few pixels higher on the background.

I hope to see an update soon :)

Thanks for the feedback on the trees. Could you post a pic in the discussion thread because I never noticed that effect on the trees but I could have easily overlooked it.
Looks 1000 times better than the original now. Trees look awesome and overall there's a much better feel and vibe to the track. Nice one :)
Looks really nice. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you. Nice to know a few people are getting some use out of it.
Well done with your work on this track. Praise and appreciation where it's due. It's become a firm favourite of mine.

It's one of my top 3 favorite tracks to drive and always felt it needed a little face lift. Glad I learned how to do it. Thanks for the positive feedback. Makes me feel the time wasn't wasted.
