We all know that rF2's new UI is buggy, but how many bugs are caused by S397 themselves?
We don't know, because if you take a look at rF2 files, you will find that for the new UI of rF2, S397 are still using Java Runtime Environment ("JRE") 8 update 111, released in October 2016, and was due to expire in January 2017. According to Oracle's website, more than 1600 bugs of Java have been fixed since 8u111.
For developers who are still updating their game until recently, it is beyond my imagination that a new game launcher released in 2022 includes a runtime from 2016, and no updates of it are included in the game updates at all.
So, instead of putting our system in unknown danger while running this game, we can simply fix it ourselves.
Here uploaded is a free OpenJDK's JRE from Red Hat (you can download from Oracle or any other OpenJDK developers if you want, also free of charge).
To apply this update, go to rFactor 2's Bin64 folder and delete JRE folder, do not make any backup because it's useless. Then extract the downloaded file to rFactor 2 root folder (Bin64/JRE have been made already in the archive). That's all. You can run the game normally.
