Porknose Performance Options 0.9

This data download will give you five new performance engine models for the terrific Porknose created by Pessio available here at Race Department. First off, let me say that I realized my number one goal in doing this mod must be that I had to keep the influence on the Porknose handling and driveability to an absolute minimum. I love the way it drives and I didn't want to ruin it. I believe I have accomplished that goal while bringing a substantial increase to the engine performance options of the mod and have created a new pack of cars that run very well together. Secondly, let me say that I have done engine swaps and tweaks on dozens of cars over the years and this one was very much the toughest, most time-consuming Assetto project I have ever done. Since I was dealing with five very different performance engines while at the same time having the above stated goals the amount of time spent researching engine specs and many miles of race testing caught me by surprise.
You will now have the choice of the following engines. All V8s of course. A higher performance Ford Boss 302 racing spec engine, an early 70's Corvette high performance small block, a vintage Aston Martin Vantage engine, a BMW M62 , and an early 90's 375 hp Ferrari engine ! All of these engines are in the 370 to 400 bhp range...nothing too crazy. Three of those engines are actually all aluminum which means I would normally adjust the vehicle weight and center of gravity but when I attempted that I found that it was going against my number one goal stated above. Aside from engine specs the only other things I have changed are as follows:
1) The total mass weight of each new car model has been adjusted slightly to allow the new models to be quite competitive with each other. The stock Porknose clocks in at 670 kg total mass weight. The lightest of my new models is 660 kg and the heaviest is 675 kg. So a 15 kg difference which is only about 33 lbs! That is a small figure but these are light cars. Whatever effect that has on the handling of the Porknose may be felt by a very experienced driver but it is quite minimal.
2) The clutch "max torque" spec was increased from 550 to 650 so that the clutches could withstand the higher performance.
3) There are now an increased number of available final drive ratios to pick from.
4) The increased performance and speed of the cars necessitated changes to the AI specs to prevent a total crash-fest. That alone took hours and hours of testing and tweaking to get it to where they all play together quite well on the various tracks I have tested them on. It's important to note that running these hot open wheel cars on AI works best with the race aggression level set to 50% or less.
INSTALLATION:
Included in the download zip is a very extensive "Read Me" text file that not only gives you easy to follow installation instructions but also includes advice on recommended terrific SFX packs for the cars and some "pro tips" about what to expect from each version. Although they all race together quite closely they each have their own 'flavor' and that is what makes them a lot of fun to drive.
This download contains five folders that have new data and UI folders for each new car. You simply copy/paste the contents from your existing Pessio Porknose folder into new car folders, replace the data and UI folders in each and delete the original data.acd file. Like I said, I provide more detail in the included ReadMe file and I urge you to read it. The only reason I call this version .9 instead of a 1.0 is I may change one of the engine specs in the future. We'll see.
Thank you to Pessio for creating this fabulous car. Considering all the skins and trim and gauge options created by others for this car and now having these engine choices the Porknose probably has more options now than any other mod on this site. Have fun and Merry Christmas! Oh, and stay healthy and safe.

Thank you very much for the comment and the stars. It's always a little tense for me waiting for the first few comments from people who have tried one of my mod attempts. I am currently working on powertrains for this skin pack. https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/skins-for-pessios-garage-porknose.31691/
Thank you for this. I love the visual aspect of this car, but just could not drive it due to the lack of connection between the engine, sounds and the rest of the car. This will bring it up to standard for me.
