The Extended Controls app allows you to bind nearly all possible binds available in Content Manager.

Most bindings also allow for a "modifier" button to be assigned to it in order to help expand the amount of usable bindings for whatever form of input you may be using, whether it be wheel, controller, or keyboard.

Developers can also define new bindings and organize the control bindings tabs for any car to help the user understand the use/priority of certain controls.

Installation

1. Download the Extended Controls app zip file.
2. Manually install the Extended Controls app by extracting the contents of the zip file, and copying the extracted contents to the root Assetto Corsa directory.
3. Verify installation was successful by checking in the assettocora\apps\lua directory and verifying that the ext_controls directory is present.

How To Use

1. Launch AC, click the Drive button.
2. Open the app list on the right side of the screen, scroll down to the Settings section and click on the Extended Controls app.

3. Under the Car tab, there is a sub tab bar that will contain all of the relevant car bindings for the specific car you are driving,
- If there is a Critical tab, please ensure you at least bind those bindings, these bindings will allow you to start the car.

Modifier Buttons
To bind modifier buttons, simply press and hold the button you wish to be the modifier, and while holding that button, press the main button you wish to bind as the main control.

Car-Specific Presets
In order for Extended Controls to properly save any changes you make to your controls presets, you need to make sure you are on the latest version of Content Manager.

Developers

If you are creating a mod and would like to utilize the Extended Controls app for you car or app, please use this section to help guide you through the process.

Extended Controls Integration
For now Extended Controls must be downloaded via this Race Department page, however, in the very near future it will be included as part of CSP's AppShelf and will be able to be auto-updated for any future updates.

Developers can open the settings page in Extended Controls and Check the Developer Mode option which will reveal a SDK button next to the settings page button.

The SDK page will outline the basics on how to create a custom controls definitions file that you will include with your car/app mod folder. This file will allow you to add and customize how controls appear in the app, as well as allow you to add descriptions to the controls themselves.

Standardization
To help prevent an influx of random apps trying to achieve the same thing as Extended Controls, this app has been made with the foresight in mind to be able to be integrated into any car or app. This standardization will also help the end users not have a multitude of different bindings and control presets to handle the different mods out there.

In order to further help enforce more standardization for new controls, a control definition library is being created to help standardize the naming of controls so that end users will have an easier time switching from mod to mod.

Extended Controls Cars and Apps

This is a list of current apps and cars that feature Extended Controls integration. The list will be updated as more developers begin to integrate this feature set into their mods.
