Hi,
I'm currently working on a small add-on for Automobilista 2 (which I've called « AMS2 LogBook ») for my personal use. I thought it might be of interest to others. So I'm sharing it with you.
Basically, it's a simple logging program for keeping track of laptimes and finding the best 'AI' level for a class / track combination. I have chosen to make this log file in csv format, so that anyone can use it according to their needs. The file is certainly larger than an optimized database, but it has the advantage of being readable by anyone without any particular skills. The log only saves one line per lap so the number of lines should remain manageable on a modern computer.
Installation :
Unzip the AMS2 LogBook vx.xx folder in a directory where you have write access. Click on AMS2 LogBook.exe to launch the program.
Put a shortcut for AMS2 LogBook.exe on your desktop. Launch it before running AMS2 in order to be able to record data.
(you can launch it when AMS2 is running, but nothing will be recorded if AMS2 Logbook isn't running)
AMS2 set up (Options / System) : Shared Memory : Project Cars 2
The program reads AMS2's shared memory. It must therefore be launched before and during your race/practice/hotlap. The data collected is updated only when the LogBook starts, or when you click on the 'Load' button in the Sessions tab.
Once you've completed your run, click on the 'Load' button in the Sessions tab to update and display the recorded data.
In order to be useful, you will have to manually enter and save the IA level used (see Documentation.pdf)
report any bug at ams2logbook@free.fr (or on the forum)
Cheers
ToDo List:
- Eventually, I'd like to be able to do a sort of career mode…
- Other things! Give me some ideas…
