Hi guys,I am proud to present my first mod for a Codemasters game here on RD.
This tool will allow you to have 2020 Drivers names and teams in F1 2019.
To be able to do this we will need to a program called Cheat Engine since in F1 2019 the localisation file is absent,I will try to make a step by step guide and to be as more accurate as I can but I can assure you that it is really easy
to use Cheat Engine.
Once you will have all names modified like you want you can close Cheat engine down and the names will stay in game until when you will close it though,then you will have to re name the drivers again everytime that you start the game up.
Step 1: First thing first you will need to download Cheat Engine and install it on your PC,download link: https://www.cheatengine.org/downloads.php
Step 2: Once installed Cheat engine,launch F1 2019,then while in the main menu minimaze the game and launch one of the files that I have uploaded,I made 3 languages only as Italian been my first language and English and
Spanish been the most spoken languages,If I will have time I might do German and French too.
Step 3: Once you opened one of the file I have uploaded Cheat engine will open and you will see a square in the left corner flashing green and red,click on the icon and select the F1 2019.exe and click open,
when cheat engine will ask if to keep the same addressses click YES.
Step 4: You should now have something like this picture,the bottom square is where we will modify the names,I have made some headers and left them in capital red letters so you know which value is which.
Step 5: Here is where it gets a bit funny,from my findings the values that the game uses for the names are always the same in the menus but slightly different for the in session names.
So for now just rename the names that you can see,so you have for the teams Alfa Romeo Racing that should be changed in Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN, Rich Energy should be renamed in Haas F1 Team,Red Bull Toro Rosso Honda in
Red Bull Alpha Tauri Honda, Robert Kubica into Nicholas Latifi and Nico Hulkenberg in Esteban Ocon.
Remember to rename the teams and drivers with the right capital letters as the game is capital sensitive,so you will always put the first driver name letter capital and the rest of the name lower case but the surname will always
be all in capital letters.
To rename the teams and the drivers go in the bottom box and double click on the name that is shown,change the name and then press ok,
For now only do this with the names that are clear in the bottom box,so it will be the teams names menu,alpha tauri name in race and Hulkenberg name on driver tags.
Your cheat engine should look like the picture below now and if you will go in the game menus you will see that the names changed but only in the menus.
Step 6: Now we will see how to update the drivers names when driving on track too,like I said at the begin the game always changes the addresses for the drivers in track this is why you will see them strange signs under the
DRIVERS NAMES ON TRACK,now to fix this you will have to click on the right handside on cheat engine where you see the 'Value Type' button,
click on the 'String' value like in the attached picture.
Now above where you clicked you will see a white space where it says text on the top,
We gonna change Kubica to Latifi for this example, now type in the white space Robert (First letter capital and then lower case like I did) and then click First Scan,wait for the results now you will see about 400 results but don't get scared.
If you look at the address number in the bottom box under the voice DRIVERS NAMES ON TRACK the first value it was my previous find of Kubica in game but like I said the game will always change the addresses slighlty.
Now look at the value in the bottom box that is 2789720A1 now the good news is that the addresses used are always starting with 2789 for the drivers in game,so go on the top box in cheat engine and on the left you will see
all the addresses scroll down untill you find 2789,as you can see in the below picture the values with 2789 are only two so what i did is to double click on them one at the time and they will appear in the bottom box of cheat engine.
Here click the name on the right handside and rename it Nicholas LATIFI and press ok.
This is up to you on how you wanna play it,I usually rename them one A then B,C etc until i find the value in game and then minimaze the game again and rename it in Latifi,I think you can rename both values and then just leave it nothing bad will
happen in game.
Remember,this step can be done in game,so you can actually pause the game and go in the race direction menu and you will see the name changing as you changing it with Cheat engine.
Do the same with Hulkenberg but remember to type Nico when you scan for the name.
Step 7: If you use the Tags and the Hud from the game then you will have to change this last value too in the DRIVER TAGS ON TRACK value,to do this you will have to scan for the driver surname this time as this is what the game uses,
so again to change Kubica to Latifi in the text box type KUBICA then press new scan and then first scan,again look at the address in the bottom box my previous found was 27863EFF8 so the new one will be similar to this
as you can see from the picture below the only value that is 2786 is 27863EF78 so it must be this one,again double click from the top box,
value will appear in the bottom box,double click on the name and enter LATIFI,click ok and
it's done.
Step 8: It's up to you if you want to keep the bottom table tidy and slide the new found values under the headers where they belong,example the on track name that you have modified for Latifi you can drag it under the Header
where it should be,you can save the new addresses by clicking file on the top corner and then save as but it's all up to you,you will still have to find the new addressess at the next game startup.
Unfortunatly it would be easier if the addresses would be always the same but this is what we got this year.
Remember you can change all the 20 drivers if you want just when scan for the value type the driver name only so if you want to change Hamilton type Lewis and then scan it,Bottas same,type Valterri and scan etc,only type the surname if you want
to change the tag and the hud on track then type all the surname in capital letters so HAMILTON, BOTTAS etc.
Also the addresses for the drivers on track will always start with 2789 or 2788 that will save you a lot of time and you will have only few addresses to search from and you can pause the game and see the changes from the race
director screen.
