Love this car. The 850 wagon was cool in its time also.

I would love to think green field, but surely the two tracks will be STCC tracks and the additional cars will be existing vovlo cars in STCC. All in the concept of BMW M3 Competition. You don't need to worry about the crossover (ie. no new content (other than s60 concept) for STCC owners) because its a 'free-game' which means its targetted at a wide audience and not existing STCC owners.

I don't mean this to sound negative, i think its a great idea from Volvo and Simbin and a good marketing approach. Very few marketing ideas actually make regular consumers feel good especially in a world where companies are increasingly trying to 'generate profit' in the same activity of marketing. (Does anyone remember when you won a free coke under the cap of a Coke bottle??. Now they make more money from the suckers who spend 55c by SMS to be told they haven't won).

Just i think STCC owners shouldn't get excited.

Of course i'm still going to keep my fingers crossed until we get a Race 07 or GT legends platformed Toca 2 (98ish BTCC). and if i get a Volvo s40 i think we are half way there.

Guys, I'd stop being so optimistic, it's only going to end in disappointment like it always does. It's meant to advertise volvos, so it'll probably just be things you can buy now. New road stuff probably.

You should read the press announcement that states that besides the Volvo S60 concept also several race cars will be in it.

Volvo - The Game in Shanghai

The Volvo S60 concept car will be shown to the global press during the Shanghai Motor Show. Simbin said they will have the simulator present as well for testing it before the rest of the world can.

I wonder if Volvo have a specific application in mind (some car show with a G25 setup etc?)

Because obviously anyone with a wheel already has a sim or three and anyone without one won't exactly spend more than 3 corners before hitting esc.

Obviously the vast majority of Volvo customers thinking about buying a Volvo will be unhappy about the lack of virtual motorcyclists to maim in this game :laugh2: That said, they don't usually see motorcyclists, so perhaps they won't notice they aren't there

Volvo S40 and Volvo 850 Estate, stars of the BTCC, now starring in
video racing game “Volvo - The Game”.

The racing game announced in April by Volvo Cars and game development
company SimBin can be played with five racing legends in addition to the
new Volvo S60 Concept. They are Volvo models that many people will
remember from the STCC and BTCC racing series.
Volvo - The Game, a game free of charge is being released on May 26 by SimBin Studios and
Volvo Cars, will feature the Volvo S60 Concept and another five hot contenders.
Players will be able to choose between the Volvo C30 which is competing in this year's STCC
( Swedish Touring Car Championship), the STCC Volvo S60 that participated a few years ago,
the Volvo S40 that participated with notable success in the
BTCC (the British Touring Car Championship) the Volvo 850, the estate car that became a legend
in the BTCC, and finally a true racing classic, the Volvo 240 Turbo Group A.
There is a choice of two tracks: Gothenburg Eco Drive Arena in Göteborg, Sweden, and Chayaka
outside Kiev in the Ukraine. Volvo - The Game is the only virtual racing game in the world to include
the Ukrainian track. With Volvo - The Game, SimBin and Volvo Cars want to reach out to a broad public.
The game offers a choice of skill levels: “novice with all the driver assistance technology activated
such as ABS brakes, “semi-pro”, and finally “pro” where there is no assistance whatsoever.
