Thx Piotr for links, I had the same problem in the second race as you. So bad, you had pole:D grats anyway. Bad luck tonight ;(

two very good races tonight. the first race was very very good.duriing the first few laps pioter and sam with the falcons were so fast but in the corners knut and i with the nsu's could get them pretty easily, then unforunetly knut got hit and we both missed a good race together' i was looking fwd to it knut so maybe next time:smile-big:.
then rian came along and made a very good and clean pass on me. later i had a little incident lost many places but still it was another good fight with peter carlos and i think ryan gr8 driving from all and the nsu was good fun.until i made a little mistake and the thing bit me
2nd race i took the corolla which was much easier to control but not to my liking. had a good atart with stuart and steven in the minis but they were much faster in corner speed. very much enjoied it while it lasted.
thank you all for the good fun grats sam and stuart and see u at tuesday at laguna:fingers-crossed:

sorry I didnt make it guys I had problems with a mod used
for tonite race's
sounds like it was a bad nite for all !!
for those who lasted the distance hope it was a good race !!

I tried my best to get things ready but it wasnt to be... next time
hopefully :eyeroll:

I was really looking forward to the race Amir. Was pretty cool when when you took pole in the last second. We were very close all night so it could have been a good one. But like you said, maybe next time:good:

Race 1 was a blast though, I've really fallen in love with the NSU:love:

What a great event. Lots of different cars with different strenghts and weakness. :)

Race 1 Alfa:

Qualli went ok. Got 5th place with a nice time. The start was very bad. Lost about 4 places. After that i was going through the field with Peter behind me and Carlos in front of me. Great racing till lap 8 i think with a 1 second difference all the time. Then Steven also joined. Some great battles where the result very close but very fair. We all tried to pass Carlos in his big Falcon in the twisty section but he drove away from us on the straights, real fun. And alot of position changing when we tried that. To bad Carlos spun and Steven also. After that Peter and i where still fighting really hard. He made a mistake in turn 1 and i could pass him. And i could stay in front of him in the remaining laps. Got 3th place.

Race 2 Lotus:

For sure the wrong car for the track. Got place 9th in Qualli.
When i went to the grid i didn't saw any car so i did +/- and saw all the cars again. Then i saw people leaving because they saw no car. Followed alot of laps Darren and Ulli. But couldn't fight with them because i was faster at parts of the circuit where it was impossible to overtake and both of them where faster on the straights. Then Ulli and Amir made a mistake and got those places and got Darren place also when he made a mistake wich reslulted that i made one also but mine was smaller :wink2: So i could take his place. Last laps there was a train behind me but there was a colission so i could drive away and ended up 4th.

So 2 good results. Thanks for racing guys. :good:

Was very fun. Never tried the Corolla or NSU before and they fit into the game perfectly :good:

First race with the Corolla I screwed up quali, finishing 8th. Got a good start, passed Ivo, then was three wide with Peter and Ivo as I went into 7th. I then cut back on Carlos for 6th. I took advantage of Steven trying to pass Amir and was into 5th. Ahead Piotr and Knut collided promoting me to 3rd behind Amir who I pressure and pass for 2nd on lap 3. A couple of laps of pressure from behind until Steven and Amir collide leaving me free to try and catch Sam. No easy feat. While Sam would frequently be 1+ seconds faster in the first sector I would claw that back and more in the second and third. I was running out of time though and on the 13th lap slid onto the grass ending my challenge. Was a real joy hustling that Corolla after at first hating it :), it has fabulous brakes.

Second race : Piotr grabbed pole from in the dying seconds as I use the NSU this race. A few problems with people being unable to see each other and disconnection left me out in front and it should really have been a comfortable win. But I span on the brakes (as often happens in Race 2 I lose concentration due to tiredness) early on, fought back to be right behind the lead group before spinning twice in the same place and finally hit the bollards soon after. I decided to call it a night then :). The NSU was easier but not as fun to drive I felt, much more neutral. The lesson from spinning on the brakes three times is that I need to be more marginal with my brake bias. Perhaps I should have gone to 57:43 for the race instead of sticking with 55:45.

Thanks Stu and RD, I enjoy the act of driving on this game much more than any other game. I've not enjoyed the actual driving in a game this much since Forza 1 days.

Good fun again, thanks guys, and what a classy track this is.

Race 1: I chose the Jag , and even though I knew it was very slow, it has a character all it's own, in a Queen Mary sort of way :snicker:. It's so hard to imagine you are driving a race car when you are looking over a huge woodgrain dash. Qualified last as expected, and thought I'd be in for a lonely cruise at the tail, but due to a few spins in front (well
Ulli had a few, ), I had company from Ulli, Stuart, and even Knut for a while. The Jag eventually became too wide for Stu to pass at the end, sorry mate. :fish:

Race 2: The tiny Abarth this time, what a contrast to the Jag. It took me all of practice to re-learn the track and stop myself from turning in to turns about a minute too early, and then remembering to brake about 200 metres later at the end of the straight. Ivo (in the Elite) and I spent much of the early part of the race trying to find a way past the huge Mustang of Ulli, who would just blast away down the straight, but we were all over his tail by the time we were into the twisty stuff. I harrassed Ulli's tail relentlessly hoping he would make a mistake, but it took ages. After finally putting in all the hard work to open a gap and sneak up to P4, I overdrove it through the twisty hump and spun off. I was quickly swamped by Ivo, Ulli, and Amir, so we started a great little scrap (between 4 very different car types), but sadly it all ended when Ulli missed his braking point (I assume) and pushed me off track at the end of the straight. No probs Ulli. Amir waited for me on the last lap, so we had a great little battle home, thanks Amir.

That is it for me for about a month, have fun and see you all when I return from holidays. :yo:

Another great night at Mid Ohio.

Race1 Chose the Alfa. this little car never fails to entertain me. Love driving it. Had some good racing with Amir, Ryan and Ivo. Somehow magaged to put it on its roof a few laps from the end which ended my charge for the podium. Finished in P5.

Race2 This time I took out the mini for what I thought would be a nice midfield car around here, turns out to be a gem of a front runner. Had a terrible start falling from 4th to 8th by T1. Got a few of the larger cars through the twisty back section and followed my fellow mini driver Stu up the grid to harass Amir. Unfortunately for us both, a little mistake from Amir (np), left me nowhere to go except into the side of him and that let Carlos though. Picking up the pace again and with about 5 laps to go I tried to chase down the 9sec gap to Carlos to try and give the Mini's a 1-2. With Carlos 's Cortina looming ever larger I eventually run out of laps, crossed the line in P3 only .3 behind. Great Race :good:

Thanks all for the Fun evening

Yep - Mid Ohio always ends up being the business :good:

Just a couple of points from last nights event rather than a full-on review (see posts passim) - and these are general points for drivers information and to make note of, rather than complaints:
  • Please take care when recovering from off track excursions, there were a few returns to the track right on to the racing line at slow speeds while people who hadn't gone off were approaching at a rate of knots. Please just beware for future events. Thanks in advance for your compliance.
  • There are Personal Skins in the Sprint Pack (Abarths, Minis & Elites). Numbers 21, 31, 34, 55, 60, 66, 79, 461, 789, 888 were designed by the drivers themselves, so please do not use these skins. Any other available skins for the car in question is available and fair game. Again, not a complaint, just information for new drivers who wouldn't have known.
  • Full class events are there purely for fun, and for drivers to try out all the cars in the class. We will have single make and matched class events using those cars, so gaining familiarity is the primary concern on a full-up night like last night.
  • I was very pleased with the relative speeds of the Corollas & NSUs when compared to the other TC65 favourites (Alfa/Cortins/Mini etc.) - Season 5 of the RDHGP should be nice and interesting :D
Other than that, it was yet another great nights racing, only slightly soured by some connectivity issues for drivers.

Here are some nice pix from last night's cool event :D
My second last corner of the last race ended with a wonderful drift (which I successfully caught :in-love:)

Great pictures Ulli. Looks like a beautiful slide.

It was a cool sight when those barges (Falcons) roared past me in the first race:D

Looking at the second set of pictures they seem more "real-world" when there's such a varied and large grid. Specially the 4th and 5th picture.

Thanks for sharing:good:
