Personally currently downloading everything, and will give it a go! :)

Will be interesting to see. They have added DRS rules and control options for that as well!

Gone very quiet on this thread for such a momentious update. I guess I was expecting too much.

The ISI formula is welcome and I look forward to some racing with this.
The graphics have had some correction and enhancement but not the lift in frame rates I was hoping for.

The big disappointment was the historic series. While the physics are still fine imho, missing the mirrors seems to have put this back for me and who knows when the next update will be? I don't like the virtual mirror.

More worrying, I don't see many RD servers up so maybe a lot of testing going on there, Not problems I hope.

I thinkt the Formula Renault has improved as well

I don't think we'll have to wait very long for the update to the 1960's cars (and the new 1966 Monza). You can see they are already testing it on their servers. Should be interesting to see what a more complete tire model do to these cars :)

hi can someone help me , i have been trying for 2days to get this 85 build going i have updated everything , so i have tried the last resort of a clean reinstall , but that has made it worse in manage mods it still remembers all my previous tracks and cars even though i have not put them in packages folder yet , and when i try to uninstall them it want let me cheers , i forgot to mention when i try to verify this build i tells me invalid path submitted by this application, or there is an error with the verification service

Well Peter, I did not say it was a bad timing for nothing ;). For me, it could not have been at a more worse moment.
Don't get me wrong, I am glad it's here, but to tell the truth, I haven't even been able to drive 1 meter with the new update, simply due to time issues on my side.

I am trying to get all servers updated this morning, and then I will look into the new mod structure to get some new servers up. I only have 2 hours orso this morning, and then i have to go out yet again.

Try the following:

Uninstall the Formula Master mod, and the Formula Renaults.

Install the Formula Renault, and update to version 1.2
Install the Formula Master.

I suspect the Master takes something from the Renaults, which has to be present prior to installing the Master.

Don't worry too much Marco, doesn't seem to be a lot of interest. It looks like I'd be the only one turning up, maybe it's something I said;)

I used the torrents to get the rF2_v1042-v1070_69-85, which updates b69 to b85. I first uninstalled all the other tracks and mods, except the ISI ones. I installed the newest versions of the Meganes, Formula Renault, GTs, and Formula ISI, then ran the update exe. Everything works as advertised, including the "features" cited elsewhere, like 66 F1-F2-F3 mirrors black, shadows, etc. No probs.

The only issue I have left is that in the "menu" where you select the Mod, Car, and Track, I still have strange icons for the RD mods that I uninstalled. It doesn't seem to affect anything; they can't be selected anyway. Mostly they're an annoyance, though I'm curious if they'll later interfere in the installation of versions of similar mods that Marco spends so much time with. Any suggestions? Is there a file that needs to be edited or deleted so that rF2 will rebuild it properly? Or can I just Uninstall them with the uninstall button in that menu? TIA

BTW, Peter, I find this fascinating. ;)

Edit: Well, I answered part of my question. The Uninstall button is "greyed" out and can't be clicked. I can click the Info button, and I see that most of them are missing components, which were some of the things I uninstalled before I updated. The icons in the menu look like four-part diamonds. For the ones with missing components, the diamonds have yellow/black construction hatching. Can I reinstall the missing components? Or will that mess up because they weren't made specifically for build 85?

Jim, please try the following:

Open your explorer
Go to your data folder of rfactor2
Enter the INSTALLED/RFM folder
Look for any file that looks like an RD mod. Most will start with the letters RD. Delete those files.
Now go up 2 folders (back to the data folder that is), and enter the MANIFEST folder.
Do the same, and delete the files which are RD related.

I guess there have been some files left behind with the uninstalling process. When they are deleted, all should be ok again.

So nice this... Just did a complete reinstall. Removed everything, and started from scratch.

Installed all updates, and all ISI mods. Just added MidOhio, Snetterton, Fuji and Topeka as tracks, no custom mods.

Started the game, and went to single player mode, selected all cars and tracks, selected Fuji and a Megane, and went on track.... Totally UNplayable :( 2 FPS when driving through pits, in the same settings as in the previous build, where I had around 30FPS there.

So disapointing this.. Simply can't play the game anymore, and have NO clue what is causing this. So, count me out of any race for the coming time, until I have this fixed.

I downloaded a MaseratiGT_Cup_v13.rfmod mod using the ingame downloader (Build 85). After it completed the download it gave me a message that the mod must first be installed. I went to the mod manager and the mod isn't there. The file 'MaseratiGT_Cup_v13.rfmod' is in the 'Packages' folder and it is also showing in the 'Documents\rFactor2\Installed\Vehicles' folder. But I can't find the mod anywhere within the game to play it. What do I need to do to play this mod?

This update is definately a decent step in the right direction. I don't get stutters like I did before and the shaders seem more clean especially for shadows and windows. HDR still looks pretty strange so I'll leave it off. I still get 22 FPS with 15 cars at Monaco start but once they spread out it's alright.

I can't wait for the tire model to be finished and hopefully they'll improve the AI (they don't seem to know how to stop if they're tangled up and maybe they crash a little too much).

I've tried the Formula Masters a bit and it seems pretty well made but it's a beast to control and tweak properly. I haven't looked through the controls but is there a DRS button?

I had the same, and I think I know what caused it. Must check later tonight if it is indeed what I think it is,and shall post it here then.

I have been out again all day today, so after dinner, there is some time to check up on things again.

Will also try what happens when I do NOT use the All tracks and car mod.
