CORNES CONTINUES STREAK
View attachment 111510
Nathan Cornes completed a ruthless domination of the European Grand Prix, taking his fourth FFG victory in only 6 races. Cornes was one of a small handful of drivers to enjoy a near faultless run through all 57 laps of the Donington Park circuit, benefitting as numerous rivals succumbed to the tricky corners, either spinning off and out of contention or plain into the barriers.
Keeping his countryman honest all race, defending champion Jamie Cocks secured his first podium of the season and moves to second in the championship with a similar, clean race. To complete the podium, Tapio Rinneaho put in a great drive, keeping his underperforming Falcon on the stuff that matters to snatch a very important third for the Hungarian team.
Behind, the carnage of the race meant that lower midfield teams were given a field day. JHR scored a double points finish with Yamaguchi a strong fourth and Mishra seventh, both on the lead lap. These sort of results (reminiscent of the ability of the team manager) could well see JHR challenging further up the chain more as the season progresses. RD also had a good day, with Costello in sixth and Reed in 9th. Ishikawa came in fifth to give Razor a massive haul of points, while DTK overcame a poor start to the race with Kederer in eighth and Harvey tenth.
Jack Laskey had a quieter race than most on the way to eleventh, he was ahead of McNamara, Sharp and Sigoulakis, three all making numerous spins off the track between them. But they at least finished. Graham, Rautavaara and Brugman found the wall, Martins got beached, Bohner had a water leak, Utzer was out early with a transmission failure, but without doubt the most controversial retirements were that of Vimal Ana and Pablo Diehl, the Singaporean recovering from an off track caper came back on and into the Brazilian, who was running second at the time. The barbs are already out over the incident between the teams.
With that, the next meeting of importance is in fact at Silverstone, as the series attends it's first in season test of the year. As such, the marketplace is open, and closes twice this week. All purchases before 10am Tuesday AEDT will be counted for the test session, while the marketplace for Round 7 at Dijon closes as per normal at 10am Thursday AEDT.

@C0rrUpti0Nz Even though cars were going off everywhere, you kept yours on track. So was it an easier or harder day?
@Jamie Cocks N-Tech have slowly been gathering momentum, does this help your cause further into the season?
@TTupsi A round ago we had all but written you guys off for the rest of the season, and then this! Talk us through it.

@Matt Bailey 4th win of the season, two cars in the points on a tricky day. Good things to take from this?
@kedy89 Stike zero, one or two then?
@Jack Hunsley A big day for your still young team, better results on the horizon?
@Lesley Buurlage @airutonpurosuto8912 There was a big flare up between you two in the pitlane, has it all blown over then?
If one of his drivers tries to do something similar this season, i'll punch him in the face, again. Rivalry ok, but hitting eachother of the track is a no-go

and @Vimal Ana , i'll give you a coffee, maybe you'll stay awake and on the track next time

@kedy89 Stike zero, one or two then?
Zero. Referring to one of the clauses in my contract. Have them to ensure I can leave without troubles if the car lacks speed/reliability. It still lacks both, but I eliminated one clause with my stellar podium drive earlier, the other is unlikely to happen.

Strike Zero, he finished in the points. Anyway, it was a driver mistake, not a car failure :p
What am I supposed to do if the car gets unpredictable when you try pushing it to the limit

General Impression:
Donnington came up trumps, despite being feared of too few overtaking opportunities. A lot of spins by the majority of the field did create a lot of enjoyable coverage with especially McNamara providing for good laughs.

Outright overtaking did happen on track as lunges at the end of the back straight proved good viewing material as well, as did the slow-motion replays of the couple of airborne cars past the old hairpin.

In the end, a somewhat expected win for Cornes and good podium results for Cocks and Rinneaho, whilst ART and Jawz had yet another dreadful day. So did 2KF1, but at least they were classified finishers.

Drivers view:
"Another water leak, I genuinely thought they patched it up extremely tight after the China incident. Oh well, hopefully the car will get an overdue development package before the upcoming test and the Dijon GP."

Another win by Nathan Cornes, 4 wins total and 6 podiums in a row. Takuma Ishikawa's best finish of the season in 5th. We are very happy with the weekend at Razor Racing, very happy indeed.

Good things indeed. We still have room for improvement on Takumas side, that early off prevented a double podium which I think was attainable with the horrible track condition around the back of the circuit, where most people had a moment.

@C0rrUpti0Nz no reply to the paddock question?

@Takuma Ishikawa remember to make your buys early before the test
