Rally - "Aussie Swap" - Mon 14th & Tues 15th March 2011

Lol, me and the C4 is enemies. :roflol:

Had no chance with 2 stages not completed and one really bad one.. That's why I should test some cars before :D

First time I ever quit one rally 2 stages before finish without any damage :(, I don't no, maybe I'm to tired from work, but this cars are not at my likeings at all. WRC for me are like spaceships and I'm in Stone Age. I need more time to practice and I don't have it.
See you at the next rally club, maybe a little bit more forgiveing :)!

what a motivation of at least finish is there, when I am counted as slower than if I just would press ALT F4???
East West 1,2 totally destroyed me... Mineshaft 2 killed engine after 100 meters...

Not a good rally, I really should practice some before.
I have races the S2000 207 and Escort Mk2, not really the same as the WRC cars :)

But you can see from this test that if you are fast, you are fast in any car (and the otherway around :))

SS1 - Retirement at the startline when the game crashed on me
SS2 - Somewhat defensive, as I struggle a bit in the dark. Okay time, though.
SS3 - Crashed into a tree early on and had to reverse... A bit too cautios the rest of the stage
SS4 - Went really well, but Ole was of course three seconds faster...
SS5 - Two spins within 100 meters halfway through the stage, but still second fastest
SS6 - Okay, nothing more - nothing less
SS7 - Slid off the road and had a CFH
SS8 - Overshot the first junction, and hit a bank and went head on into some trees a bit later on, DNF...

Overall a okay rally for me... Fast when on the road, but again some stupidity that cost me too mutch time to be really pleased with my effort... Will have to start practising in front of the rallies from now on, I think...

Wow!I was the only one S2000 car in the tonight race!I have fun driving my 207,I have won the race but I have do 2 CFH and I think that I can't win the general classification...congratulations to all the puilots especially to aspy, mermiteman and harakimi, very fast guys!

Failed hard in SS2, rolled the car in 1st corner and ducked up many times after that. One CHF in SS5 to save from retirement. Otherwise pretty clean rally. I need to be happy it was my first one ever with WRC. :)

SS1: I bloody hate that stage. Only 1 sec behind stage winner is extremely good! :D 1 sec behind the winner - Nigel.

SS2: Night is funny for me. Not my PC - lagg all the way, nmakes me loose the FFB, that's not so funny :) 5 sec behind the winner (again Nigel). One 180 - lost some seconds.

SS3: Well, I bloody hate Greenhills - but there are things that are worse, like Greenhills 2 - jeeez. But Nigel ended 26 sec behind me. And actually 7 sec faster than the next on the stage - wtf?

SS4: Woah! I have never driven this stage before! Had to trust my codriver! And fastest again! O.o

SS5: OK, I DO hate Greenhills - but this is even WORSE. Argh. But 6.5sec faster than number two! Holy Clap!

SS6: Mineshaft - the stage i've driven 6 times in testing. 4.45 now - not bad, trying to get to the finish here, almost 9 sec in front of number two WRC.

SS7: Hah!... "west-east" or East-West 2, and DAMP! Like I don't hate the stage 1 enough!:p But it went OK - took it a bit safe. Still 9 sec faster than number two - now, it's just one stage left!

SS8: Mineshaft 2 - never ever seen! I wonder how the big jumo is the wrong way! However it is damn important to finish!
And I did!!! :D over 11 sec faster than number two in WRC and a total of 2.34.6 in front of number two total in EU!

Wey! This went well! Without the spin on SS2 I did no mistakes, but I still hate Australia!!!

I have to say that was a lot of fun. Took me a couple of stages to get used to the car, but after that it was a blast - the Focus is very responsive and coupled with great acceleration it was very forgiving. Indeed I think there were at least a couple of times I saved it where I don't think I would've in my Group N car. :D

Despite some minor spins and a wrong turn on SS4 things were going well and I was locked in a great battle with Yann. The only frustration of the night came on SS7 where my game minimized itself for the 2nd rally in a row and forced me into another pointless DNF. Apart from that it was great fun and many thanks to the organizers once again.
:thanks:

LOL, you were not waiting until everyone finished the stages;) there were 2 other drivers that were faster than you on most of them............................... Insert evil sith lord voice here : "We will watch your career with great intrest young Myrvold and Magnes" ;)

Congratulations Ole!!!

I am really impressed with Simone's pace in the Peugeot. To be following the WRC cars in that little rat of his should really not be possible  My pace was not half bad either on the stages I did manage, but still some more to do before I can be really satisfied with them. (Rallydrivers are in general never satisfied with their performance before after they see that they've won  ) Next time around I would like a snow rally, regardless of car :)

Seeing Ole's times I'd check that Fabia for any unhomologated parts ;). Some inspired driving there.

I tried to push throughout the event, but had some moments on the night stage (don't like it really, as you don't see enough, especially in the underpowered N4 - yep, excuses time! :D), also crashed heavily in SS3 I think, when I got too eager on the crest. I was baffled being only 13 slower than the winner despite that and a slower car. Was all quite good till the damp east west, when I was struggling for grip (not sure if I had correct tyres, probably yes) and spun in the early part, then I went out of the fast right into another supposedly "fast" turn. I looked at it and though that I should brake more than for the turn before, but though "if you say so" and went just as fast. That ended up in me clipping the bank, rolling and landing on roof.

I fell behind Dariusz because of that, but managed to push on Mineshaft II (lost only to Ole in EU) and got my position back. Fastest N4 in EU! :D (damn, the 160kph top speed kinda gets in the way of catching Simone or WRCs ;)).

EU

SS1. apparenlty this seems to be my favorite stage lol, took the win by 1sec with a new PB
SS2. no rolls in the 1st few corners so things where looking good, hate the dark so just tried to keep it clean which was good enough for 1st
SS3. trying not to let the pressure of 2 wins put me off i manged to drive clean the 1st few Km`s but with about 1 Km to go i ran a little wide and hit a sticky out tree almost recking my car and had to limp home with the engine popping and farting, shame realy as my splits where looking good.
SS4. realy like the 1st half of this stage and was having great fun, but a bad middle sector put me down the finishers.
SS5. hate this track as i always end up hitting a tree, so took it realy easy.
SS6. slowly getting to grips with this beauty & almost got under the 5min.
SS7. dont know why but just couldnt get any grip here no matter what tyres i took, very bad stage for me cant remember how many times i went off.
SS8. made the big mistake and look at the standings and saw i was just 21secs ahead of swiders for 3rd, and of course this effected my driving and i did a crap stage not only loosing 3rd but 4th as well. serves me right for looking i wount do it again :)

overall a superb rally enjoyed almost all of it, thanks to warren & co for setting it up and grats to the podium guys :D

I really have to step up in the series as well now. I absolutely loved to drive WRC, need to get up to the Premier Leauge!

Thanks for every kind word! It is a strange feeling when I hear it. Now I hope I can keep the momentum from here and WTM! Looking forward to see the final results tomorrow or Wednesday! :)
