Welcome to RaceDepartment's Racing Club for Project CARS! Project CARS can be played on various platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and we'd like to facilitate and encourage our members to post challenging casual events for members by members.

Platform Prefixes
We now use Prefixes (which you will be required to select when creating a new race (thread).

Setting up a race
First of all start with a plan. Post a thread not at the final moment before you want to race but open it a couple of days in advance. Official RD events are always scheduled a week in advance for the highest change on success.

Secondly order your threads properly and try to make it as simple as possible. Not everybody wants to read a wall of text with requirements. Keep it simple, easy and friend.

Contents of a racing club thread
  • Select a prefix for your platform of choice.
  • Thread Title: Car Class @ Track - Date
  • Thread Content: Use the template that will be posted soon.
Good luck and have tons of fun racing and we hope to see you on track soon!

@Dennis
Hey mate, not sure if your back from vacation or not but hope you had a good time :)
When you get a chance could you update the sign-up list and give some more info on the ingame race session?
Ex. start time, weather setting, and the season we will be using as these all affect the track conditions and handling of the cars for those doing setups.
Will assists be set to real or manually selected?

Cheers
David

If it's anything like we used to do in the pCars 1 club then assists will be set to real so I'm assuming ABS+Traction control will be available.

Start time and season I'm fine with being announced before hand but the beauty of pCars is in it's variable weather. A good compromise there would be to set it to reflect the current real track conditions I guess, at least then there's a chance of a freak rain shower and some last minute adjustments/unplanned pit stops while still giving those who want to go the extra mile a chance to plan ahead. Or like it is now, mixed weather lets us know to expect conditions that may be less than ideal and that setups should probably favor safety over that extra last 0.01 seconds of a hotlap setup. Or, that it may never get beyond overcast and the hotlap setups will claim the day.

TLDR Probably assists set to real and please don't share the exact weather settings before race day.

(if there's a need to reserve a car on the server like in AC)
No need to reserve a car, although it's always nice to have as many different cars as possible

With the mixed weather for this race, would it be possible to keep it simple for the first race while they iron things out?
It will not be anything extreme, just enough change in weather that we have to do a pit stop :)

Thanks, I'm finally back, sorry for not updating the list for so long!

A have added some more info to the first post (autumn, realistic aids, 17:00), however the exact weather shall remain a secret :D

Just one thought.. how exactly will we find the session if the server browser is still only showing 50 sessions? (not tested the update yet so that might be fixed)
In Pcars 1 this was quite broken as well, so we used the "invite a friend" feature of Steam for those cases. Fingers crossed that this will no longer be necessary :)

TLDR Probably assists set to real and please don't share the exact weather settings before race day.

Make sure to set Spotter to "always" under gameplay so you get informations on cars next to you/how far behind etc. on authentic its only available for nascar i guess. 1 Click below is the arrow spotter app, kinda like AC Helicorsa.

Since there is no Fuel app to calculate, this is what i tested so far:
Acura: 2,5 liter/lap
Ferrari: 2,2 liter/lap
