where did you hear that?
Because Eric Boullier didn't know about it last week...
I remember reading an autosport interview where they had mentioned him driving a while ago, but that was on an empty track and he wasn't pushing himself to go fast. Other than that I've heard nothing about him driving other than doing simulators, which isn't the same at all, I can't see him being ready in time personally, no matter how confident he is.

I don't believe Eric Boullier any more. He disorted Kubica's words and than told that it was all translators fault on the far east of Europe ( Poland is in the Central Europe, unless he meant Russia). I am not saying that Kubica will be back in 2012, but there is still a chance.

Damn. This driver is back... I'm not happy, and not because Kubica's chances are smaller (for sure I'm fan of Vettel, but I watch Kubica's career as I'm Pole too). I just hate Raikkonen... He is good driver, but hey, he's not doing it with heart, he's just about fun and money. He matches Lopez really well... (Gerard Lopez, not Diego :p)

I'm not going to support this team in next season. I hope Williams will get them...

They have said the 2nd seat is open and there contemplating putting petrov there till kubica returns.
 
So there is only 1 seat for 4(?) drivers, Senna, Petrov, Grosjean, Kubica.. thats actually a similar situation in Toro Rosso.. I don't think Kubica is gonna come back next year :( Im sure that the driver that has more sponsors will be in the 2nd seat in Renault.. It seems that F1 works like this nowadays..
 
I read Eddie Jordans Autobiography recently and he talked about drivers that had huge natural talent but lacked shall we say an organised, methodical and dedicated approach. He named Johnnny Herbert for example. He also talked about guys whose dedication and approach took them places that their skill alone would not (Brundle was one example).
He named Schumacher and Senna as two guys who combined both and the results were obvious.
In my view Raikonnens pure talent was huge but he did not do enough to build on it and respect his body enough to make it durable. (Unlike for example Schumacher who is prob fitter now than when at Ferrari) I think that consequently his best racing is already behind him. Dont forget Massa out drove him at ferrari in his last year.
A PR coup for Lotus but with so much talent in the paddock without a seat its a little regressive in my personal view.
I hope he has more than a pay to play driver as a team mate with which to be compared.
 
Boullier
Lotus would be better off getting a young driver in the seat to partner Petrov like Grosjean. He did well in GP2 and he won't be better prepared for a good shot at F1.
boullier said petrovs seat is unconfirmed for next year regardless of petrov having a deal for 2012. He even hinted it will be vacated for kubica when he's ready.

Suddenly the steering wheel was in my hands. I tried to put it back on, but it was too late. I was just wondering where I was going to end up.

Is it true that sometimes you’re bored in the car?
Only when I am in front by a country mile, like in Melbourne last year. Then you are thinking about other things or you’re playing with the buttons on the steering wheel. Then I suddenly missed a braking point. This year unfortunately we haven’t had such race.

Q: (Peter Windsor – F1 Racing) Kimi, I’m sure you’re aware that, as a result of the seventeen laps you led in Hungary, McLaren Mercedes, for the first time this year, have now led more racing laps than the Mercedes safety car driven by Bernd Maylander. I just wonder how you see that battle developing in the remaining races and how strong McLaren will be versus the safety car.
- Hopefully we can beat them. At least it’s the same company so it doesn’t really matter but we will see what happens.

Kimi, have you ever got angry about anything, and jumped up and down and shouted?
Yeah, many times but of course you’re not happy if you retire or something but I guess it mostly happens more in normal life than in racing.

What are the kind of things that make you angry in normal life, as you say?

When asked to comment on Hamilton’s crazy move at Fuji that ran everyone off at the first curve:
– You have to learn how to find the braking points already when you are six years old while starting in Go Karts. Obviously, you should know how it goes at this level. I don’t know about others but, at least, my father Matti put sticks on the right places for me and for my brother to know where to brake. That’s how you learn that lesson the best and you remember it always where ever you race.
The car is certainly different, but do you feel different to last year?
I don’t know anything about a different feeling. It’s a new season, so it’s hard to know what to expect.
What about Felipe? Is he still the same guy he was last year or has he changed a lot?
I don’t know. You should ask him. I don’t know what he’s been doing, so if you want to know something about his
life you should speak to him.

Who do you see as your main competitors this year?
It could be all tight – but then again, it might not be. I don’t know more than anybody else – I just see the times. That’s it.
