Engberink beats Sauber duo
Renault driver Tim Engberink set the fastest time in qualifying today, beating Ancevski and Diehl who'll start right behind him. The Williams drivers who were favourites for pole only managed 4th with Utzer and 8th with Laad. Foro put his Toyota in 5th ahead of the second Renault of Lintner. Martins snatched 7th with a strong lap. Kederer and Reed complete the top 10.

Goddard steals the show
Having started from 14th only Mane Goddard put up a stellar performance to claim the win at the Malaysian GP. Reed managed to get 2nd place in only his 2nd race, while Engberink got 3rd after a great recovery drive.
At the start Diehl got the upper hand on Engberink to take the lead. Ancevski dropped to 3rd, Utzer managed to keep 4th. Laad jumped past Martins, Lintner and Foro to 5th. Engberink regained the lead on the backstraight, behind him Utzer got past Ancevski. Drama then for the Saubers in lap 2. Diehl attempted to pass Engberink in turn 1, but they made contact and both spun, dropping them to the end of the field. At the same time Ancevski had got back past Utzer. The German however stayed close, and tried to get the Sauber in turn 9. It didn't work out though, they too made contact, forcing Ancevski to run wide and sending Utzer in a spin. Ancevski could continue in 9th, while Utzer found himself in last place. That wasn't the end to it though, Ancevski tried to pass Black in turn 1 the following lap, however he lost the rear, sending Black in a roll what ended his race. Ancevski could continue, now in 20th place.
Laad held the lead for a few laps until Foro got past. Lintner was in 3rd, Martins, Reed and Hunsley completed the top 6. Laad clearly lacked pace and lost some more places until the first round of stops. Foro held on to the lead until his engine blew up in lap 13. Lintner inherited the lead, but in lap 19 he as well retired, with an oil leak. Hunsley then got the lead, but only for 1 lap as he pitted, handing it to his teammate Kederer who was on a one stop strategy. Goddard was running in 2nd, Reed in 3rd. Behind them were Buurlage, Harvey and Hunsley. In lap 25 Hunsley made contact with Harvey in an attempt to pass him, which cost both of them a couple of positions. Diehl and Laad profited, but only briefly as Diehl soon made his one and only stop, while Laad retired with an engine failure.
At the front Kederer pitted as well, handing the lead to Goddard. Reed was in 2nd now, in 3rd was Engberink despite having dropped to last early on. Brugman, Hunsley and Kederer completed the top 6. The two stoppers then made their 2nd stops. Goodard kept the lead ahead of Reed, Kederer was in 3rd now. Behind him Engberink, Buurlage and Hunsley. Brugman was no longer in the race, he had suffered a water leak right after his stop. The last few laps only saw one more change, Engberink could get past Kederer for the final podium position.
