The game some files are named Marussia, I may have got a few wrong in the readme but everything in the actual files you download is correct so just go off of those names! as for the.JSON file, be sure you are using version 4.4 of ERP as 5.1 can be a bit temperamental, aside from that I am not sure why else that may be happening? I just tried it again and it worked fine for me, and I'd assume the same for everyone else as you are the first to report this error?

Someone on the questions forum had the json problem http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/f1-2016-modding-questions-thread.124753/page-60#post-2479959 I don't know why though an uninstall and reinstall will probably fix it

I am trying to build my helmet modding skills before I add that, turns out it is much harder than actual car modding, and I don't want to release a bad looking helmet design. hopefully, though I will be able to add it soon, or @Franske might be willing to work with me again like we did for my Jaguar mod

It can be found under the PKG tab in Ryder25's ERP Archiver!

it does work as shown in the screen shots, you have to switch the chassis for the lotus one, it is all in the read me, the chassis is under the 'marussia-carmodel.layer.json' ensure you install it under the PKG tab and then it will work fine.

So just change the chassis file from "lotus" folder and thats it? Does it kill my chance to play multiplayer?
