Have you tried the new update yet? How do you find the new cars? Enjoying v1.5? Let us know in the comments section below!

No...
Why would I get 60fps before the update and now 15fps with the same settings?
No they didn do anything that would change your performance. I have the exact same FPS as Before. VSYNC off, FPS limit = 60, and Everything is butter smooth.

I dont know if you did it already, but i would delete the AC folder in documents&settings, and then do a steam cache check. It could fix any issue you have. I hope it will, cause its super smooth here on a med PC.

Nope. Baby sitter costs $20 an hour (factor in 2 1/2 hours, Bottle of wine about $40, That's pretty much $100 cold hard before we even order food. Entrée about $18 each, Mains around $40, desert or cheese platter anywhere from $12 each to $30 combined.

so, Approx $240 for under three hours. And it all ends up getting flushed.....
Could try taking her for a McDonald's, sure that's a little cheaper

My PC : 4GB ram, ATI Radeon 5770 Crossfire, QuadCore Phenom II 955...
Yes I know it seems old, but I could run AC with 60fps before the update...
(I'm talking Nordschleife on max settings and with any car with HD skins...)
I don't know what to do.:(

Your problem is that AMD 5770 has only 1 GB onboard video memory, it's actually pretty amazing that the original AC Nords worked that well. As you probably noticed, Kunos changed Nords quite a lot for 1.5, they added some more 3D grass and objects etc. So probably now whole track won't fit into 1 GB GPU memory anymore, which would cause horrible stuttering.

So the simple advice, buy a new GPU, you can find a better GPU than that for 100 bucks.

Nevermind, it works perfectly now.
What happened? No idea. It completely puzzles me.
And I still have graphic settings on max, except the reflections.
Oh about my card though.. Like I said, I have a crossfire system, so it's like I have 2GB and not 1.
So, yep, now I do run the Nordschleife very well! he he
Loving the new grass, btw. Way more realistic.

Now for a different topic...
I feel like I need to completely rework my filters.
Doesn't the game looks brighter than before? Or again, it's just me? lol
I notice that Wagnum updated his filters... I'll have to try it.

Oh and fortyfivekev, I did delete my entire folder in "documents".
Sheesh it was enormous. It had 150,000+ files... lol

Anyway, really enjoying the game now.

Hmm,i have HD6570 and AC runs very smooth on my 8 years PC hehe, all in medium and no PP filters :)

Found out yesterday that Steam alone uses 25% of CPU usage under windows (normally it is 0-2 % usage without steam opened up...), resulting in overheating my CPU more quickly (resulting in stutters, and gradually decreasing until '0 FPS', not to mention it shortens the lifetime of the CPU as well) than necessary.
In offline and online mode of steam. This is a common problem, but though it is written about since five years already, I found no clear solution for this issue (tried already some advices -offline mode, for e.g.- with no efffect as soon as a steam game had been startet). Any clear idea how to solve this particular steam shi.te behaviour ?

Other than that, did someone notice that the Alfa Romeo 155TI V6 now has less diff settings available in the setutp ? Before v1.5 there was "center diff" and a "front diff" available, now this two settings are gone. Only the rear diff settings are left and in. Don't know if this might be the only car, or if some more cars might have been "simplified" in this matter as well.

I didn't try this car since 1.5 update, but from what you tested, did it behave well for what the car is? Kunos did say they are reworking AWD, so probably this car will receive updates in the future.

Ah, ok. Didn't even know that Alfa is a AWD car. Feels more like a RWD car since ever.
The Audi Quattro clearly feels like that (a AWD car), because it is (a quattro) :).

But since there are (or were) front and center diff settings, it seems to be an AWD car indeed.

I drove it in a race on Saturday, had been practicing earlier in the week and the car did change after the update. I thought it was a good change though, slid around a bit more and was more lively, really enjoyed it. Still had some AWD understeer but it's usually corrected with a dab of loud pedal.

Finally had the time to test the new update...
Well if I can call this a "test"...
Basically my game became unplayable cos it's 200% slower...
I don't get it...
I checked my graphic settings, everything seems ok...
I tried disabling stuff like anti-aliasing and reflections...
Nothing worked.
I tried using Kunos stuff only, not custom filters, etc.
Same result.
Any idea?
Did they change something major in the engine that makes it unplayable on older computers?

I got an automatic driver update today by AMD and the fps drop disappeared with it. Important to set all anti- aliasing and stuff to zero (or set as "use application setting") in the AMD manager. But that being said, yes it seems more demanding now. I have set my fps locked at 50fps for better pc performance.

This is a common problem, but though it is written about since five years already, I found no clear solution for this issue...
Ok, found out what is causing it: A process called 'svchost.exe (netsvcs)' which is going crazy as soon as Steam is opened up.. . Opening the win rescource-manager and disabling this particular process for the time playing AC, or other games, 'solved' it.
