I have just received the identical error, which I have never seen before.
I'm currently trying to figure this one out, as soon as I know more I'll let you know.
I have just received the identical error, which I have never seen before.
It is a windows network error message.I have just received the identical error, which I have never seen before.
Just thought I drop this here because I had this error somewhere else recently...This basically means that no response (either positive or negative) was received from the remote host when the TCP connection attempt took place.
One reason this may happen is because a firewall is blocking the response from the server.
Another reason is that the host name is incorrect.
This could also mean there is a (temporary) problem with the server (or some router along the way). You can try a traceroute to determine whether or not this is true.
Additional information can be found on MSDN here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms832263.aspx
To all of those, no my firewall is not blocking me. Never has, and nothing has changed since last night.Just thought I drop this here because I had this error somewhere else recently...
It is obviously something with the server, since more people are having the issue. It could be as you said related to the mod. In this case the connection to the download server that hosts the mod.To all of those, no my firewall is not blocking me. Never has, and nothing has changed since last night.
I cant be connecting to the wrong host name, cause that's not possible when Im connecting through the launcher.
And if its a temporary problem with the server, its not for everyone, because a few people are on it.
I am assuming its something to do with the mod download. Which is why I am trying to contact Daiman about the final file which he has not shared with us. With this file, we could complete the mod package itself, and therefore have nothing to download from the server, and should be able to connect straight away, as it is during this stage that the error message is shown.
If you are unable to connect to the server, then try this method. When you tried to enter the server, you downloaded a mod package called Bathurst 1000GT or something like that which wont be installed and will be italic.
What you should do, is reinstall all of the components into your rF2 directory using the packages, Daiman has shared.

The skin pack can be found here:

The safety car can be found here:

Once you have downloaded and installed everything, install the Bathurst 1000GT file which should now no longer be italic.
Close rF2 and relaunch. You should now be able to enter the server.
The required skin pack (v2.03) can be downloaded via the second link that @Joseph Wright has provided; the skin pack in the first link (v2.01) is old, and no longer needed, therefore it has been removed. There should be no issues once you enter the server. Can confirm that the manual fix worked, however, the custom skins file is no longer there on the Dropbox site. so hoping that isn't an issue once entered the server
I believe so, yes!By the way, is the Twitch chat room the "official" chat room to hang out in?
But nobody talking only me lolI believe so, yes!
