Welcome to the central location to discuss the 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix at Baku.
Fresh off the back of an outstanding race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Canada, the teams head to the fast and tight confines of the Baku street circuit in Azerbaijan for the second ever running of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, a race in which Mercedes will be looking to make up for past disappointments as they continue to claw back the advantage held by a resurgent Ferrari team.
Baku offers a unique challenge to the drivers of modern Formula One with tight and twisting sections seamlessly linking to high speed blasts between the historic monuments of Baku. Average speeds are considerably higher in Azerbaijan than one would expect from a traditional street circuit layout, mixed with a requirement for good mechanical grip and strong top end speed, the race will be an interesting test of the strengths and weaknesses of both the championship leading Ferrari and Mercedes teams.
