Touring Cars launch off of each other too... you're never going to make that 100% disappear you can only reduce it. That said Marco climbed over the back of the car. The sidepods were meant to deduce the chances of being shot up in the air from side to side contact

I think the closing speed was the reason why the car launched. If the cars were going at similar speeds, then I doubt that would happen.

Qualifying was a good time. I sat in turn one with a sight line to turn two. The biggest cheers from the crowd were for James Hindeclife, Tony Kanaan and Rubens Barichello. Though Rubens didn't make it to the final 9 shoot out, it was good to see him qualify 10th.

Alesi said he learnt more in this Indy500 preperation then throughout his Formula 1 career I guess it is similar for Rubens.

I'm really hopping Rubens can just lead a lap, and maybe win it all?! My more realistic hope is for James Hinchcliffe/Alex Tagliani to win, gotta cheer for fellow Canadians
