The Friendly Development RACE 07 WTCC Series returns at RaceDepartment

Want to race WTCC cars in planned Racing Club events?
Want to race in clean, friendly, events with larger fields of fellow RaceDepartment Racing Club members?
Want the opportunity to race with the best RaceDepartment drivers, and learn from them how to improve your driving skills?
Are you new to on-line Racing and just wants to meet and race with other Racing Club members in a clean friendly environment?
Want to experience League style racing, but without the pressure of week-to-week results?

Well, here's your chance. Within RaceDepartment, we have a regular series designed just for this aim.

The spirit of this event should be familiar to many of our past participants, but for those who may not have raced with us, here are the key principles.
We want it to appeal to all drivers, but more importantly to attract the new commers and less experienced racers, who desire more training opportunities to learn about bigger field on-line racing, and the chance to mix with the experienced racers on a more friendly basis.
Hard core racers will be serviced by our Leagues, which remain as the heart of RD’s program, however, for the less experienced (or not so fast), these may be a bit intimidating. Many of us don't get much of an opportunity to mix with the top drivers in the League format, and so miss this excellent training opportunity. This could also be an opportunity for new members of the RD Racing Club to meet up and race with the experienced members, prior to joining the Leagues.

Two servers are usually allocated for each event, depending on entry numbers. The program includes a one-hour practice period where our most experienced drivers are available to help with set-ups, driving lines, or any tips/help you might ask of them. TeamSpeak communication is available to further help in this training.
Events are primarily based on RACE 07 WTCC cars, but we occasionally throw in a couple of Mini, Caterham, WTCC87, F3000, FBMW, and Radicals events. We may occasionally include some variation in weather settings to aid the training objectives.

Race Event: RACE 07 WTCC series, Friendly / Development Series
Race Night: Every alternate Saturday Night, starting 18.30 GMT.
Race Applications: Forum post, one week in advance. Open to RaceDepartment Racing Club members.
Race Rules: As per RD League racing rules (We still need these, even in friendly events).
Race Duration: Approx League distances.
Car Selection: Any WTCC 06 or 07 car, but not to use same car for each event (encourage variety).
Race Directors: Warren Dawes, Attila Domjan, Jamie Wilson

This series is anticipated to kick off early April 2008.
For more information, go to All participants will need to be members of the RaceDepartment Racing Club, to gain access to the password protected server.

To our long term Friendly Racers, “hello again”, and to anyone looking to join the action for the first time, “welcome aboard”.

Race Night: Every alternate Saturday Night, starting 18.30 GMT.
Race times are always GMT. And UK is (because of daylight saving) currently at GMT +1. Central Europe is now at GMT +2.
So if you are in the UK the event starts at 19:30, if you are in central europe it starts at 20:30. :)

oops, yeah Theo is right the event would start at 19:30 UK time, so that's 30 minutes to cook food & whatever else.

But there is an hours practice so you could always join later.

Race Director Announcement

Welcome to all participants in our re-launch event of the FD Series at RaceDepartment. I hope you all have fun.

One final note of advice to evryone.

Please remember that this series is all about Friendly Development, aimed to help people learn and experience large grid fields. We have many who are having their first FD race with us tonight, so please make sure you get with the spirit of the event.
This is not a serious League event, it is not a league warm up event, and it is not about winning. We expect people to have fun through clean, safe, gentleman driving. There are no points or recognition of results, so it is not about winning at all costs. Overly aggressive driving, or overly aggressive behaviour over TeamSpeak, in-game chat, or in after race reports will not be tolerated.

Lets keep the spirit alive. :)

Don't forget your special FD skin.

This will be my first ever FD Series event :)
Already very proud to see all those skins on track.

Btw, is there some kind of captain for each group to stay in control of things/etc.?
