F1 2010 Windows live sign in? HOW?????

I just grabbed f1 2010 from steam, to play on a windows 7 machine. For the life of me, i cannot figure out how to sign into windows live. It asks for my user name and password, i do that and press enter, then it asks for my game serial number, i enter that, and then it says i either entered the password wrong, or the windows id isn't valid. Can someone point the way for me. Thanks.

Windows live doesn't actually exist anymore, I'm unsure if there was a patch after it went down which was aaaages ago... But if there was it isn't available for any steam versions. In short u can play the game but u can't save any data

If you don't have an existing account it might be tough until Codemasters permit it to be removed from the steam version. I just bought Dirt 3 Complete (awesome!) on Black Friday sale and it has the GFWL removed. Worth waiting it out.
