Why is Automoblista referred to as AMS?

I'm new around here and I hope there's some truth to the saying that there's no such thing as a stupid question. Here goes. Why is Automoblista referred to as AMS? I can see where the A comes, and the M at a pinch. But the S? Is it just a matter of picking a random letter from the name?

And remember, there's no such thing as a stupid answer. Prove me wrong.
