Abt and a few other people came up with the idea of having a sim racer drive under Abt's name to show how top level sim racers are on pace with real world drivers. They openly talked about this on his streams in the days leading up to the race, and all of his regular viewers knew this was coming. They even began documenting the weekend and were editing it into a YouTube video to help promote sim racing and basically have a laugh because everyone is bored at home with nothing else to do.
Audi decided this was too much fun and fired him.
